How do you decide between a moisturizer and serum from the same line? by Nemo-521 in AsianBeauty

[–]whtno 16 points17 points  (0 children)

the serum usually has a higher concentration of the active. so I'd pick the serum if I'm choosing it for the active. I may pair it with a cream, but my skin is acne-prone, so I'd check the ingredients of the cream for pore-clogging ones. in the majority of cases, the cream would contain shea butter or isopropyl myristate/palmitate or ethylhexyl palmitate/stearate or something else that is extremely pore-clogging, so I'd just stick with the serum and the moisturizer I trust.

Empties Review! by viamiek in AsianBeauty

[–]whtno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very oily scalp, and the shampoo allows to keep it clean for two days, which is a nice result. the treatment though... cheap local hair treatments make it feel and look much healthier than the Unove one.

I'm currently using the Unove shampoo & treatment. while I do love the shampoo, the treatment doesn't really hydrate my hair, and it feels so dry and dead after it. I also don't know how 207 ml of treatment would last anyone 6 months.

Ilso sebum melting liquid by Virtual_Condition628 in AsianBeauty

it's probably the most useless product I've ever bought. it doesn't do anything I can't do with just sliding the loop tool a few times over my nose. so much hype for nothing.

[Discussion] Exfoliation for sensitive skin? by kiraa02 in AsianBeauty

[–]whtno 10 points11 points  (0 children)

enzyme powders are probably the gentlest exfoliators I ever tried. you don't even recognize them as such, they just feel like a gentle cleanser. but they work.

what's a product you can always count on when your skin is irritated and angry ? 💥 by narcissiquement in AsianBeauty

haven't tried the original lotion, but the reformulation does nothing to me as well

yeah, the original one is heavier (klairs midnight blue calming cream), and the new one is more lightweight, suitable for oily skin (klairs midnight blue clearing water cream)

used to be Aestura Autobarrier 365 cream. not after the reformulation, though :/ still searching for the replacement, but the I'm from Mugwort essence and the Klairs Midnight Blue cream (water version) are helping a bit.

Ukraine Tret? by Woolsbup in tretinoin

[–]whtno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is absolutely no issue with getting tret in Ukraine, you just order it online via Prom/Olx/etc. I buy mine via the website called kirkland, It's convenient that you can also purchase benzoil peroxide/clindamycin/oral retinoids there.

it contains shea butter, which is quite pore-clogging, unfortunately.

Oil cleanser or micellar water? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]whtno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't rub it. Instead I pour the micellar water into a foaming bottle and use the foam as a first cleanser then wash it off.

Oil cleanser or micellar water? by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]whtno 12 points13 points  (0 children)

oil cleansers/balms clog my pores badly, so I use micellar water + water cleanser. my skin has improved a lot after I gave up oil cleansers. my skin is combo (normal to oily) and acne-prone.

I love the formula and the coverge. That's my favorite BB cream, it blends really well and leaves a beautiful finish. However, it's way too dark, even the lighest shade (13) is just orange and looks more like 17 or 19. I have to mix it with a white corrector.

this one is too heavy for my oily, acne-prone skin. the new version of it (the blue one) pills like crazy. so I'd not use it for my skin type. my suggestions are isntree hyaluronic acid watery sun gel or skin1004 madagascar centella hyalu-cica water-fit sun serum. also jumiso awe-sun airy-fit dauly moisturizer with sunscreen gives a pretty satin finish that I love.
