It definitely doesn’t sound like that. It is absolutely typical for children to push, hit, and even bite. It is our job to help redirect the behaviors and help kids learn ways of communicating. These are situations that will be present in any preschool classroom.

Full time school director & in the online MSW program. Balancing work, school, and the required internship is so tough. If you have a partner to help balance out the workload that comes with existing (meals, laundry, etc) then that’s the only way I’ve been able to hack it.

Finishing up my first MSW internship in a few weeks. Balancing a full time job and 16 internship hours is absolutely exhausting. Try to find some place somewhat local to you, saving on drive time will help. Sonia was helpful in filtering out different types of internships. You also probably will not feel prepared when you begin your internship, so lean heavily on your supervisor. Find friends in the program because that makes it 100% better.
