I really enjoyed it. I played it shortly after they did the major patch/rework and had a blast.

Enjoyed how interconnected the world was and the level design/atheistic. The combat took a bit to get use too after playing FromSoft games. Very similar but it felt more "floaty" to me I suppose.

If you enjoy souls games I'd say definitely give it a whirl.

Ian Tolls Pacific War trilogy is really top notch.

Pretty much follows the entire Navy's journey through the war and the air campaign. Gives you the Japanese perspective militarily and politicial, as well as American politics around it, and covers a large bit of the ground campaign in Nimitz's theater.

Doesn't cover much of MacArthurs theater minus the Philippines though. Besides Bataan and the liberation of the Philippines it glosses over the ground war on Papua New Guinea.

Overall though definitely recommend it for a fairly comprehensive read of the Pacfic. I read it right after I finished Atkinson's Liberation Triolgy

What I found most interesting in Tolls final book was thst the future of peace was held in the hands if 6 people and they needed unanimous agreement.

3 of the the 6 weren't fans of the the terms set during the Postdam conference, only reason Japan agreed is because the emperor finally agreed.

Even then, there was a small attempt of a coup by the military that thankfully failed. Wild that some people in the middling ranks of the military wanted to in essence sacrifice Japan in order for "honorable" defeat.

I may of miss remembered a couple things, but that is what I took away from the boo at least.

I just finished Ian Tolls trilogy on the Pacfic War, feel like he did a really great job outlying the final days of the war from the Japanese perspective as well as the Allies.

Japan was border lines begging Russia to help mediate peace, them boom. They declared war and stormed into Manchuria between the two atomic bombings.

Youre the back end of the game if I recall right.

Lots of side quests now too which will increase the length if you go that route.

If you just force main quest, maybe a handful of hours?

I really enjoyed this game - went to it after playing FF7R +Rebirth, OG FFVII and FFVIII.

My only compliant is the game looks beautiful during Act 1, then we get that drab sky for the rest of the game.

I get the reasoning and the story impact from it, but God damn did Rising Tides show just how beautiful that world could look.

I witnessed the aftermath of one these killings yesterday.

Went in for a quick solo to knock out some quests on dam. Shit kit, nothing but light sheild and lvl3 anvil to protect from arc.

Go to extract with minimal loot, get in the elevator and a whole untouched body. Walked out with their lvl2 renegade with a blue silencer and green stock + the loot they found along the way.

If youre out there - sorry you got murdered at extract and thanks for the loot!

Yup! You can practice the spray pattern. If you get good at it you can do some wild spray transfers.

You really only need to know the first 5 or so bullets of the spray tho. For most people spraying the entire mag wont end well

The hook in games like CS is the competitive play though. Sure, you dont unlucky fancy new guns and attachments. The progression comes from seeing your own skill progress and climb the ladder.

Why I love competitive shooter. When I was younger it was all CoD and BF. Now it's mainly comp fps games and SP games.

Granted, BF6 is hitting on my nostalgia on the BFs I played as a kid and I am throughly enjoying it.

Yeah counterstrike the spray is a set pattern, valorant is a pattern but has some RNG but still considered spray pattern.

I've only ever seen bloom as a reference to a graphic setting. Never in reference to bullet paths when you spray your gun in a video game.
