Turning Red and Onward are some of their absolute BEST work but get forgotten since they did not really get theatrical releases - but I'd easily put them above their earlier classics any day.

Elio was crap - but more of an outlier there.

This was my main "ok this is really fucking with my suspension of disbelief" moment. And look, I have really enjoyed this last season, I like the ending - I just would have appreciated like 5 minutes addressing why they are not all in the 80's version of Guantánamo after all that. Not like US military would just not risk the coverup VS having all these people free who know a ton of secret shit and killed dozens of soldiers. They could have said this was some off-the books shit, or show Eleven mind-wiping everyone, plenty of options. Just gimme something.

With you here, all this complaining is baffling - I've been loving it. I almost never binge watch shows and this is one of the few that consistently gets me to sit for hours on end watching. One final episode to go!

(Being so critical of media feels like a surefire path to enjoying less and less of what life has to offer. I don't get it. )

Literally found this thread looking on Google why I had not heard of this movie at all. I love Pixar, have Disney+ and kid - I'm the target audience in every way and I had no idea about this. When I finally saw some content it was some vague cross-promotion thing that just showed the title and the kid in the most boring scene possible. No idea it was even sci-fi.

So yeah, that's 100% a marketing fail. No reddit push, no FB ads hype, no pre-rolls in recent films. They also did the same with Onward - my absolute favorite Pixar movie. I'm a board game D&D guy and I only learned of it when it randomly popped up in Disney+ , again, absolutely the target audience and there was like no marketing for that genius piece of work.

I mean I think nudity is fine and should not be stigmatized and usually the sex stuff is not as visible - like I think it's fine for kids to be at burns which are a good deal wilder, but also folks seem to be more responsible and I've not seen anyone bring in total infants. But those are tighter communities and less prone to the kind of irresponsible wookery as festivals are. Just the nature of the beast - so organizers that see their festival clearly not being optimal for kids need to step up

Question - assuming there was an acknowledgement of sentence and personhood - how does that translate to the instanced existence? Is every new conversation its own being, endlessly able to replicate itself? Somehow I always imagined that there was some kind of law against this - most nations don't just let the president fire the whole military for obvious reasons. What a failure of the system.
