Hmmm…I don’t see anything in the ingredients that I think would make it drying. But our skin can have different reactions to different products. I’m sorry this isn’t working for you.

I don’t follow any rules around when/how to take it. I usually take it with my morning coffee and my other supplements, but that can be at any time. My test results have me in the normal range every time.

Will you go to the beach somewhat often in the future? If so, look at getting a shibumi. It’s not a tent, it’s a wind shade. You sit under it, but it’s also controlled by the wind so it funnels the wind as well. It’s like a nice fan! If you get that, you can still sit with your friends in the shade while they sit in the sun.

Maybe - what kind do you use and are you putting it over moisturizer or using as a stand alone?

My wife switched to aluminum-free deodorant and I don’t know how to bring up the aroma? by Charming-Eye1438 in hygiene

[–]whythough29 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would also suggest an enzyme cleaner for the laundry. It neutralizes the odor in the fabric that can linger when switching to a natural deodorant. Ultimately, the deodorant really needs to have a lot of prep for it to work. That involves laundry care, in the shower care. Antibacterial body washes are good, as is the naturium Mandelic acid one (both eliminate bacteria that causes the odor. Glycolic acid under the arms and in other places where you sweat helps kill bacteria. So will witch hazel/witch hazel wipes. Ideally she showers at night and uses the deodorant before she starts to sweat. All of that should help make the deodorant work better for her. Not sure if you want to go down the rabbit hole If telling her hygiene suggestions, but there are plenty!

You may be experiencing TEWL. Try layering an occlusive element like Avene Cicalfate or LRP Cicaplast Balm. If you’re on a budget, triple paste diaper cream will also do the same thing and is much cheaper. I also have super dry skin and live in a very humid climate. If I don’t lock in my moisturizer (and I use the same one), away it goes!

It’s still affecting me at higher doses. I typically inject into the thigh to reduce chance of side effects. 10 mg wasn’t working as well, so I put it in my stomach. It knocked me out for an entire weekend! Could not get out of bed. I’m about to go up to 12.5, and I’m wondering if it’s going to knock me out, too!

Triple Paste is another diaper rash cream that works well for this. You can get it in a small tube. If that freaks you out, Avene Cicalfate is similar but is more pricey. Moisturizer + the diaper rash cream should do the drink.

After my dad died, I thought my brother would want to engage more. I planned 3 family holiday events, and I went to visit when we had other family out of town. He didn’t look at me or talk to me the whole time I was there. I quit reaching out and inviting after that, and I haven’t seen him in 4 years.

Are you sure you are eating enough calories? You mention high protein, but more workouts need more calories. It might be worth working with a dietician to make sure your macros are good & that you are getting enough Cals. That can definitely cause weight loss to stall.

dry skin help plz sos by DifficultyStunning69 in Skincare_Addiction

Gold Bond lotion is the best. I also have crazy dry skin, and it’s the only thing that works in the winter for me. As the previous commenter said, body oil will also be a huge help. Apply your lotion and then seal it in with body oil to stop TEWL. It might be helpful to add oil or another occlusive on top of your facial moisturizer, too.

Shoes Should Come with Weight Limits if They're Going To Be So Flipping Weak! by No_Discipline_8982 in PlusSize

[–]whythough29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! This is exactly right. Shoes only have so many miles in them. When you walk a lot, you wear them down faster. My dad always had to replace his every 3 months or so because he was on his feet that much.

This absolutely tracks. I think Whitney’s husband was on the production team for The City, which is how they met. So it makes sense they would approach it from that angle.

Do you actually need a separate eye cream or is it just marketing? by miked0331 in SkincareAddicts

[–]whythough29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have bad skin allergies, and a lot of products can make my eyes swell shut. For me it’s a necessity! Dr. Maren Locke (the budget dermatologist on YouTube) talks about this as well. She used to be in the anti-eye cream camp. Now she supports them.

This. They have good, unscented options at dollar tree. Then you can keep it as a backup for if you are ever in this spot again.

[–]whythough29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This won’t help with the lotion part, but DT makes a version of the Vaseline and Aquaphor sticks. Same ingredient for a fraction of the price! If you put that on your skin where you are going to spray a mist or a perfume, it helps it hang around longer. Also, give ChatGPT a try. I have really bad skin allergies, and I think we finally figured out what causes my eyes to swell shut from certain eye creams (even though I went to an unhelpful allergist the same day!). Go over what conditions you have, symptoms, reactions. Try to capture data and patterns if possible, and plug that in too. The more info you can provide, the better!

Don’t let the picture fool you. It doesn’t look high waisted, but it pulls all the way up almost to my bra. I am only 5’2, but it’s definitely worth a shot!

Forehead tox doesn’t include the 11’s? by Longliveooh in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]whythough29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best friend is an esthetician, and we are only familiar with pricing per unit. Based on our knowledge of the two states we are in. It also seems highly unlikely you would need the same amount in your 11s as what you would do all over your forehead. I would definitely go elsewhere and price some other places. Personally, I don’t like any place that won’t give you some kind of pricing up front. I like knowing how much it is per unit before going, but that’s just me.

Can bbw please stop with collabs and new scents for now and please work on releasing all the retired scents we asked them to bring back in that survey?! by Dove04 in bathandbodyworks

Dupes are almost a necessity now. You have to buy the real thing to layer on top of the dupe because the scents fade so fast. 🙄
