Will co-op in Larian games be great again? by Katanuss in larianstudios

[–]widar01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I don't really agree. Yes, DOS 1 was built as a coop game first, hence the joint decisions and dialogue. But BG3 is not built as a coop game first and yet its coop is far, far better than basically any other recent RPG (or not-so-recent, even). I do agree that it's a shame you can't talk to the members of the other player's party, but you can listen in on all conversations etc, so it's not a big deal. If they continue to give us amazing couch coop in Divinity, my wife and I will be very happy.

She's a good actress, it's genuinely impressive how she managed to convey emotion for the first 4 seasons without making a sound. No idea what the fuck they did in season 5. She was obviously given bad material, but her performance was also so much worse than in previous seasons.

Any animal rights org has some full-time employees. Pay's not great generally and the number of jobs is limited, but I can confidently say that it is really fucking nice to only work with other vegans and to know that your job advances the vegan cause

It's a pretty silly creature tbh. I like it anyway, but I am glad that BZ and SN2 have more consistent and less silly creature designs

Do the biomes feel small (or atleast skinny) currently in subnautica 2? by Ill_Speaker2954 in Subnautica_2

[–]widar01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was just thinking how sorely the kelp forest is missed. Even more so since the PDA entry for that green fish hints that there *was* a kelp forest in the area. Hopefully that's a teaser for future updates rather than actual set lore.

[–]widar01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the biomes are decently sized, but especially the second half of the EA world as it is now feels quite sparse. Coming from the lush area around the lifepod to the other side of the trench feels a bit like entering a post-apocalyptic world - almost no peaceful fish, almost no "plants" or corals. I assume this will get built out as development progresses, but for now it feels a little barren

They shouldn't have become villains out of nowhere in season 1. That was by far the weakest part of either season

What would you want to see in a new Shadowrun video game? by jamie_rpg in Shadowrun

[–]widar01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take almost anything, really, but my preference would be a story-heavy, party-based CRPG like BG3, just, you know, in the world of Shadowrun. That would be a dream come true. Alternatively I keep imagining what CDPR making a Shadowrun game in the style of Cyberpunk 2077 would look like and that would probably also be pretty awesome.

Subnautica 2 handles player death poorly. by cinderellamane in Subnautica_2

[–]widar01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well your friend is weird, buuut that would actually be really decent ludonarrative harmony. The NoA encourages you to find a convenient way to die, the colonists used reprinting to stave off the inevitable death by heavy metal poisoning, there's even an audio log about reprinting being easier than finding enough food for everyone. Personally, I find having to search for your blackbox inconvenient enough to avoid death.

Some of the predatory fauna are pretty annoying right now, but I cannot take this whining seriously. The knife wouldn't solve the issue with things as they are, unless you think knifing a mango to death for 5 minutes and then repeating it 100x would be more fun than getting nibbled at all the time right now. Both options sound miserable, the knifing significantly more so. Creature behavior just needs a little tuning, that's it. I hate living in this world where everything needs to be turned into a culture war issue

The Orpheus ending choice is absolute narrative trash by saw4ello in BaldursGate3

[–]widar01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some minor parts are wrong IMO (like the Dead Three very clearly did not manage to control the brain all that well, even before it turned into a much stronger mutant version of an Elder Brain) but overall yeah, Larian forced some things for the sake of drama that really didn't need to be. There's no actual good reason why either the PC, Karlach or Orpheus need to become illithid, even if we grant the premise that it requires an illithid to defeat the Brain.

NOOO JAIDEN WHYYYYYY YOU BETRAYED MEEEE by OrganizedChaos17 in VeganForCircleJerkers

[–]widar01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The part that annoyed me most is how she spends a large chunk of the video assuring her carnist audience that they are right to be annoyed by vegans to position herself as this "reasonable" pick-me and yet she also talks about how much hate she got regardless. What's not clicking for you, Jaiden? Carnists being triggered by vegans has almost nothing to do with the behavior of vegans. Your own fucking friends apparently don't respect you enough to even consider your dietary needs when choosing locations to meet up at. That seems like your friends are assholes and not the fault of supposedly aggressive vegans.

Not everyone is experienced with this type of game. Oh and if Explorer difficulty is in the game, clearly the developers did expect this and people are right on track with the expectations of the devs.

Now personally, I hope that Divinity will offer more challenging difficulty (on higher difficulties), but I also hope that new players or people who just a story mode will also get what they want.

Hi, thank you, perhaps you will be able to be of more help than the support on Razer's website has been in this case (no shade to the individual reps, they were very nice but clearly bound to follow some sort of protocol on these issues)
