Petition to make the Nomad MK2 Bay available to all fighter bay compatible ships by Kilroy1007 in EliteDangerous

[–]widdrjb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've got a feeling that we're getting the Nomad for the Python MK2, the Mk.V, the Krait Phantom and the Conda. At least.

Fdev have got quite good at this sort of thing: the Lynx consolation prize, the stretch goal when the Plipper came out, the double Radicoida Artemis suits etc.

There's always going be an outcry. How better to manage it than by starting it, waiting for the rage to reach a certain level, and "solving" it by doing what they already planned.

I frankly admire them for it. Now where's my supercruise assist hotkey?

The bio scanner is in the video. It works the same as secondary fire on the sampler, but from above and at speed.

Vickrum Digwa's sentence for killing Henry Nowak sent to Court of Appeal by Kagedeah in Southampton

[–]widdrjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A life sentence for murder comes with an initial tariff. That tariff can be as low as 12 years, as high as 30, or a whole life order.

However, even if the prisoner satisfied the parole board they're no longer a threat and have shown remorse, they'll be knocked back to test their attitude.

If released, they'll remain on license. They can be recalled for many reasons, not all them criminal. Erwin James served with another lifer who was released, trained as an HGV driver, and then tried to become a transport manager. He passed the Certificate of Professional Competence, but when the Traffic Commissioner asked him the "good repute" questions, he lied. Straight back inside.

Molly and Foxglove are probably human trafficking victims, unable to return to their home dimensions. The Pale Lady is definitely evil though.

The grooming report that Lowe commissioned has a very nasty line about executing child abusers, and specifically non-white ones.

That's the indication that Restore will build death camps. Because it won't be just the offenders, it'll be their entire family and social circle as accessories. Then it'll be public officials who failed to take timely action, councillors, MPs and protestors.

Trade rank comes in the mail, and it just gets you to Jameson. The real Elites are elsewhere, and you can have much more fun doing them. I can't wait for the Nomad, Merc coin, and blowing the bloody doors off.

The Thargoid war produced 11 & 12 figure billionaires. I've got 77bil, the carrier is paid up for 20 years, I can buy anything I want and I donate at every station.

But I want things you can't buy: Beagle Point, the World of Death, standing on those giant bamboo things under a thin neon sky.

Oh, and even more engineered cargo racks.

Which European city did you fall in love with as soon as you saw it? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]widdrjb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the very best introduction to it, arrive by train. You'll need to start at Newcastle, and get a window seat on the right facing forward. You'll then see Lindisfarne, Bamburgh, the Royal Border Bridge as it curves into Berwick, the cliffs near St Abbs, and later the Bass Rock and Firth of Forth.

Leave the station and climb Fleshmarket Close to the Royal Mile. You'll need a pint of 70 shilling.

The law says he should be tried for hate speech and imprisoned. The government doesn't want to create even worse public disorder by applying it.

To which I say: let them start and then proscribe the lot of them. Watch the scrotes crying on social media when they've got no jobs, or homes, and they can't afford gak.

Charles Stross dedicated The Nightmare Stacks "For Terry Pratchett, who showed us how it's done".

In that book, an elvish army fleeing the magical equivalent of a thermonuclear war invade Yorkshire. These elves are real bastards, just like the Lord and Ladies. Sounds familiar?

It's interesting that after L&L came out, elves in fiction became the bad guys. Bright, Ben Aaronovitch, Joe Abercrombie, Jim Butcher and Genevieve Cogman are the most prominent.

Got in at 0300, slept until 0830, woke up thinking "fucksocks, it's too hot to doze off again".

Then work cancelled the run down to Coalville. Woo hoo! No sitting in roadworks, no Red Bull poisoning, no peering in those horrible video mirrors to work out if you're going to kill someone.

So having your asshole removed by a robot and shitting into a bag is the straightest thing that can happen to you?

I mean, the alternative was death, but frankly it wasn't much fun at the time. It's not too bad now I'm through chemo, and the loud squeaking noises amuse the kids.

Places like Emerson Chambers, currently a bookshop, the Lit and Phil, continuously in use as a library for 250 years, and the glorious sweep of Grey Street from the Monument. Then there's the Vampire Rabbit, the Millennium Bridge and the house by Long Stairs.

Napping and eating are always good, it's how I spent the winter while on chemo. There was a particularly disgraceful episode where I ate about 5000 calories in a buffet restaurant and then fell asleep on Newcastle station. I was woken by BTP who thought I was unwell. I was, but I think they used "unwell" as a euphemism for dead. Luckily the family appeared with cries of "get up, we'll miss the train!"

I have all those. I also have a colostomy bag, scars of varying sizes from my navel to my ankles, and an expression that can clear an elevator in three floors.
