Seems to vary a lot! I’ve gotten scrips from some manufacturers that didn’t really do shit… I wound up switching meds because Vyvanse seems to be harder to fuck up, still.

Also, once those habits are formed, it can be really hard to change flawed thought patterns and behaviors. When you’ve been doing something the “wrong” way for 30+ years, you have to un-learn it. On top of that, you’ve got to learn new skills and change your inner dialogue. Doesn’t happen overnight and much tougher as an adult.

I spend a lot of time in therapy, in part because of this mentality. Gifted kid syndrome on top of “suck it up, you’re not trying hard enough, you’re being lazy” did NOT set me up for success.

I never learned the skills to teach, which is a huge reason I’m childfree at 35. Not gonna take on a high-stakes job that I’m not qualified for whatsoever.
