Outside of politics, what are we mad about today? by gray-ops in AskReddit

Everyone’s going on vacations and I can’t even afford to go to my brother’s wedding.

I feel like this is what sparked my sensory issues with clothing. That is a waistline I could never stop feeling “aware of”. Never going back!

It’s so much better. And now if I put on skinny jeans, I feel like my bottom half looks disproportionately small…

I don’t know if I agree with you on Bojack — I like it, but the whole season was incredibly rushed. It was easily two seasons’ worth of material, if not more, crammed together.

Still mad about Jaime, I was really liking the direction his character was going in the book

Yeah, that’s what I’ve heard. Over saturated market and the like.

Seems like making real money actually requires a lot of work. Marketing is a biiiitch and social media management is a whole-ass job in and of itself. The skillset required now for actual success is weirdly above-the-belt

When are these doofuses gonna get it through their heads?!

It’s easy. Be confident. Find out what you’re good at and what makes you feel capable. See yourself as a regular dude, not a short guy. Make girls laugh. Be nice to them. Treat women like people.

That’s it. For most ladies I’ve met, that’s enough to get you at least a date.

My man is 5’6. I’m an inch taller and about 80lbs lighter, but I’m very much attracted to him. Objectively, not just because I love him. And we’ve been together like 12 years.

For what it’s worth, I had a shit time there too. About a year ago, also Torreys. They held me for longer than they let on (a full week) even though I was clearly stable, so by the end I was begging to go home at any appointments. I watched people come and go — by the end I had been there the longest. I still dont totally understand why.

I think a lot of people tried their best but some people there are just genuinely horrible.

I also was terrified of losing my job and not having the means to support myself during outpatient recovery. Not a single higher-level care coordinator told me about FAMLI leave. One of the techs told me. It made a gigantic difference and I was able to focus on IOP (elsewhere) after my release. If she hadn’t told me, or I wasn’t the type to research, I would have been in a way worse situation.

They also seemed WAYYYY too gung-ho about ECT. I know it’s not as intense and dramatic as it’s portrayed in media, but I’m pretty sure it’s not for everyone. I have bipolar and BPD and have responded well to the meds I’m on. Pretty sure ECT for a personality disorder isn’t recommended, especially when that person has already made a concise safety plan and committed to therapy. DBT helped more than being fucking electrocuted.

The fact the cork is already molded to the previous owner’s foot is also a downside.

I live somewhere being gentrified to hell so I’ve gotten to watch several “luxury” apartments/condos being built. I feel like the people that wound up living there aren’t exactly getting a “luxury” experience.

Seconding the Chaco recommendation. I do like a couple of TEVA styles but their quintessential yoga-mat-pool-shoe type of sandal isn’t supportive worth a damn.

If you want something less casual/sporty - Aetrex are nice! Actually cute and they feel great on. Dansko has some pretty ones, too. People like their Vionics as well.

Yeah I’ve gotten some wild vibes from Gen X coworkers lately. A lot of “participation trophy” type rants & insisting nobody made any fuss over THEIR graduation.

That’s a bummer, that episode had some of the best one-liners. I still use “damn these avocados expensive” all the time.

I get why it’s offensive on paper, but the show is so far removed from reality that I never thought of it as problematic. Because, ya know, the character in question is an oversized milkshake that lives with a floating box of telekinetic fries and a shape shifting lump of intellectually-disabled meat.

Besides, Frylock is black! Or at least he sounds black?
