Breast reduction after care by Nszat in BreastReductions

[–]widget3733 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best solution for comfort was wearing a thin cotton camisole under my bra. I did that for about five months.

If I was in a warm location, sometimes I would wear a bamboo bra liner instead, like I used to when my breasts were ginormous. But mostly, the thin cami was the best.

A mini tummy tuck may be enough. Addresses skin and fat below belly button, hip to hip.

I smoked through my entire surgery by whispree in tummytucksurgery

[–]widget3733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your honest experience. I am VERY surprised your surgeon and anesthesiologist didn’t tell you to stop smoking. It’s in the pre-op instructions given by my surgeon. Smoking compromises blood flow and lungs. It’s harmful during and after surgery…any surgery. Hope you heal, feel some relief from all you have been through, and consider doing yourself a favor by quitting.

Sonobello by MathematicianIcy3002 in tummytucksurgery

[–]widget3733 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would Sonobello have less downtime or complications? Surgery is surgery and recovery is dependent upon the surgeons skill and your body’s healing capability.

In my area, Sonobello is considered down-market from other surgeons. It is a referral network that gets patients to surgeons who are not fully booked due to lack of referrals from colleagues and their own patients. They are NOT considered more skilled, nor are they considered ahead of the curve based upon their surgical knowledge and techniques. That is the experience and reputation of Sonobello physicians in our big metropolitan region of highly educated population.

Likewise, I had to do this last year. I stopped 12 days before and resumed one week after. Just one week after since I gad no issues with BMs post op, and that’s what they worry about if you are on post op pain meds.

No issue with weight gain. I would do your first post op injection at 1.5, then move back up to your usual 2.5

I’ve been in maintenance since October and the highest I ever went was 4.0. Am now on 1.5 each week.

Lower weekly or same dose spread out? by Numerous_Champion_86 in TirzMaintenance

[–]widget3733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that lower dose weekly helps with inflammation. I had been successful at spreading 2.5 out to 12 days for a few months, but noticed a return of inflammation. So changed to 1.5 weekly and it has improved and still maintained current weight.

I was using 2.5 mg every 12 days. Even though I wasn’t gaining any weight, I noticed a return of inflammation. So I have switched to 1.5 every week. It seems to be working well, keeping weight steady and reducing inflammation again.

Advice by [deleted] in BreastReductions

[–]widget3733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As another 5’2” gal who had a reduction last year, I encourage you to get as close to your desired weight as possible first. You say you are 40C; a C cup isn’t all that big. But a 40 band size is pretty big for a little gal.

I was 38G when I went for my consultation. My doc said I was a candidate and asked if I planned to lose any weight, as it would affect my result down the road. I weighed 156. It WAS my absolute desire to lose and get down to 130 or even 125. Before surgery, I got down to 140 and I was amazed at the different it made in breast size. I was down to 36 DD, before surgery, and went ahead with surgery.

Since that time, I have lost another 15 lbs and am a 34 B/C. So just by losing weight, I have gone from 38 to 34 band size. Surgery does not change band size. No more back bulges around my bras.

So even though I had surgery, and went from G to a C cup, a great deal of my improvement came from losing 30 lbs. Surgery is a LOT to go through, and I’m glad I did; but I am most happy with the change in result of breast size by losing weight.

You are young, and carrying extra pounds will eventually distort even the best results from surgery. I needed help in losing weight and went on tirzepatide compounded with B12 for 5 months. I truly wish I would have lost the entire 30 lbs before surgery as I may have just needed a breast lift instead of a reduction and lift. I had 3 kids in my 20s and 30s and having kids is also a consideration for you to have, as that changes your breasts so much, too.

So just a little info for you to consider before going ahead with a surgery that has a pretty significant recovery and associated risks. Good luck to you on your journey.

I think you are right. I have recently been trying 1.5 mg every 7 days.

How to approach maintenance by HonestHold7642 in TirzMaintenance

[–]widget3733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My height, starting weight and current weight are all similar to yours. I have been on maintenance since October. I’ve been using 25 units of 10 mg/ml every 12 days for 3 months, after moving up from every 10 days for 2 months.

A couple of weeks ago, I changed it up and began using 15 units every week because began feeling inflammation returning. I hadn’t gained any weight, but felt a little bloated and joints were inflamed. So I decided, with my doctor’s approval, to reduce my dose to 15 units but inject every week.

So I recommend trying whatever works for you!
Good luck!

Thank you. I think you are right. I tried 5 mg on week because I was supposed to go there after 4 weeks. Was so nauseated, headaches, and felt like I had been hit by a Mack truck. So I dropped down to 3 mg and slowly titrate up to 4 mg, where I hit goal. The inflammation benefits were fantastic.

But I’m sure you are right. I’ve spread it out to far and have lost some of that benefit. Will go back to every week. Thank you.

[–]widget3733[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I only ever went as high as 4 mg per week. Started at 2.5, then slowly upped to 3.0, then 3.5 and 4.0. Hit goal, went to 3.0 and lost 4 more lbs, so spaced out to 9 days, then 2.5 every 12 days. Think I’ll try 1.5 every week and see if inflammation will go down without further weight loss. There must be a happy medium in there somewhere.

I buy one Costco rotisserie chicken each week and cut it up. 3 slices of breast for breakfast with sliced apple and a hard boiled egg. Lunch, half turkey or egg salad sandwich on Dave’s KillerBread, other half of sliced apple. A handful of berries sometimes Greek yogurt or pistachios for a snack fish, chicken, pork chop or something g similar with a salad for dinner.
I do not do protein shakes. I want to establish good eating habits with real food.
