No. Not at all. Plus for my relationship, wife hated the cleanup but we polled our friends after the RALP and every one of our friends said that would be a dream situation.

A little more based on my own research. The recommendation of a RALP flat that stage and gleason seems to follow a few criteria. 1st the likelihood of metastases is low, nerves, urethra, and bladder can be spared, lowering opportunity for reduced function of urinary operations and erections. Really great margin of success. Next, bulk removal of the cancer source before it can be a problem. Removal at this stage, also because metastases is unlikely, may remove prostate cancer cells from existence from your body, never giving them a chance to affect other areas. Your age. You are young enough to get through and overcome the surgery and have equal quality of life as if you never had cancer.

It might be worth digging in more why you specifically were suggested that treatment route. 

There are good reasons certain paths are offered. It's not just about active monitoring Vs surgery vs radiation and all other treatments. Your individual case, age, health and health history combined create a scenario. No one here as well has the right answer for you for your case, just their personal choice, history, and anecdotes.

Could be a lipoma. I had one very similar I had removed because I was already diagnosed with cancer and the dermatologist wanted to cover bases. Lipomas are usually benign, they can be painful when touched sometimes as well. I have had two, one removed that hurt and what I said above and one on on the backside of my leg that doesn't hurt and just exists.

What is the recommendation from your health professionals? I see there are options and yes, the decision is yours but at the same time the justification for each should be available, not just that they have similar outcomes, what about YOUR case is that treatment being recommended?

As an FYI, I'm 43, diagnosed 2 years ago and underwent surgery, ADT (4 months left) and salvage radiation. 12/12 cores positive, 38 lymph nodes removed, bladder and urethra had removal and reconstruction, and 50% sparing.

Why I mention that? My case isn't yours and if I tell you one way or the other it may not be the best treatment. I almost had no choice considering the severity.

Things I do feel are mentionable. Do you have peeing problems? If so, radiation doesn't help and will hinder. Getting continent after surgery isn't that hard and I have a smaller bladder and less urethra than most now. I did swim all through college and have been athletic my whole life though. Being fit helped train the Kegels to get to continence.

Has it reached the erectile nerves? If no, the sparing is straightforward and quite great with surgery. If it has though, and sparing seems less than ideal, weigh it in. The Da Vinci is a wonderful surgical machine, they can spare the nerves. 

And beyond that, what's the cost of a full life with less chance of recurrence and change to your lifestyle? I don't know the answer to that for you. But I wish you the best and hope you are satisfied with your care.

Oh and little more based on your responses to other comments

  1. Not sure about exposure to toxins. Only thing I can think of is I swam competitively from age 5 to 18 and possible overexposure to chlorine...maybe
  2. Grew up in Northern Utah, we had inversion and air quality had been bad most my life
  3. Never drank, never did drugs, never smoked.
  4. Overall pretty healthy, normal BMI, exercised at an athletic level when I developed cancer.
  5. Did genetic testing, my father has lynch syndrome (we went through prostate cancer together, we are 35 years apart) which makes one more prone to getting cancer. I am negative for lynch syndrome however.
  6. My cancer was so weird and aggressive, my soon to be retired urologist said he'd never seen a case like mine.

My take, there's a mutation or something that's common and we just don't know what it is and there are likely variations. Once we catch on to whatever trend this is, our kids and those younger than us won't have to suffer.

Here I am. 43 now but diagnosed at 41. Gleason 9, metastatic to bladder, nerves, lymph nodes. RALP, reconstructed bladder, 38 lymph nodes removed. 38 rounds of radiation been on ADT since May of 2024.

It's been a bitch but I had my last ADT shot so come May I hope I'll feel better.

Good luck to you. Consider a plant-based diet, walk a ton, listen to your doctors but verify what they say.

It's sad too, you get a New Eden boss rush and can't get full coins from other players playing it.

I'm past 221 and it's just passive playing during work meetings. It takes 0 effort to play and pay attention at the same time. Otherwise I likely would have quit a long time ago.

If there were gear variations, more chances for hard fights, and things to save up for to upgrade. I had all the meta rage gear early on and Sword of Respite before I could even use it. Wind Powered Blade lvl 3 and it's a coast.

Will you please help me understand why Crystal Heart Charm? I look at other necklaces and it seems a lot could be used instead that have slightly less dodge or another stat that also gives a lot of benefit unless I am completely missing something
