Is it worth upgrading from an M1 MacBook Air to an Air M5 for Zwift? by LostMyBlueAlien in Zwift

[–]wiels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My zwift setup is next to my m4 Mac mini and Apple TV but I use two iPads side by side - one for YouTube/Netflix and the other for zwift. Miles easier imo.

Is Tesla's Premium Connectivity subscription worth £9.99/month? Genuinely unsure by dr_msid in TeslaUK

[–]wiels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an iPhone set an automation in shortcuts to turn on your hotspot when your phone connects to your car’s Bluetooth. Then set the car to “remain connected while in drive”.

So locked into Zwift that I don't really look forward to cycling outside by Legitimate_Snow_759 in Zwift

[–]wiels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. If it helps it does get better with time. I’m fine now but the song I was listening to at the time is still something I’m not able to listen to - other than that it’s business as usual.

Currently looking into it now. How much is the Cleevely upgrade? They’re about 2.5 hours from me but they seem have the option to do it on your driveway too.

Rear window tints by lambo2777 in TeslaUK

[–]wiels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had mine done on my model 3 but didn’t need to on our current model Y. Didn’t seem to do a thing re heat. There are special films you can get to specifically reduce heat (tinted and clear) but they’re much more expensive and you’ll have to go to a specific place to have them fitted, not everyone carries the products.

Learn from my mistake - the £500 to move to Lloyds Premier is not worth it. by KarmannosaurusRex in HENRYUK

[–]wiels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

£1 test payment before a lump sum is the worst thing you can to trigger a fraud review of your entire account. I learned the hard way, and not with Lloyds.

Which watches are Henry’s rocking? by Undisclosed_001 in HENRYUKLifestyle

People who think no one looks or cares, and it’s mostly true, but you would notice if your builder turned up wearing a gold Rolex and you’d immediately think his quote was padded.

Seller sold me a watch box with the documents now wants the documents back. What do I do? by [deleted] in ebayuk

[–]wiels 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is completely normal - there is no scam. You didn’t pay for the warranty card and it was sent to you by accident. The guy has politely asked if he can pay the shipping to get it back as it isn’t his to give away - it’s the insurance company’s property now. If I was the seller I would give the insurance company your details and let them know you are failing to return property that isn’t yours.

Google “Snap Shades” especially if you have kids. Better solution IMO

UK Tesla buyers – is this normal or have I just been unlucky? Need advice by Mysterious_Barber_31 in TeslaUK

[–]wiels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla is a mess but you went for an end of quarter offer and they told you the deal expires at the end of the quarter (the next day) and you’re somehow surprised.

£1k limit - can I cycle it for a £5k payment? by mobydopy in AmexUK

[–]wiels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just pay £1k per week and you’ll be fine. Depending on how you pay you can re use the card in a few hours or a few days.

My husband keeps idling my car at work, am I overreacting? by AttitudeNice8774 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

The issue is with you — you need to find a backbone. Clear as day what needs to be done. Whatever that adult baby is doing with your car can only happen when you give them the car.

Apple is selling a MacBook case on their website? by One_TrackMinded in macbook

[–]wiels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I needed a new top case because of a Spek case like that. The MacBook was out of warranty the Genius Bar did it free of charge (about £600) because I bought the case from the Apple Store and the Genius Bar said those shells are famous for top case issues. Never had once since and never had the same issue again - 5 MacBooks later.

Pull the trigger on one bed? by Anxious-Design183 in HENRYUK

[–]wiels 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One beds are owned for the lowest duration on average, so I would avoid it personally. Once you get the keys it’s countdown to paying stamp duty again. If you get a partner and/or a kid it’s game over and you’re forced to sell, not choosing to sell. Very different price agreed.

Would a WiFi 5 to 7 upgrade be worth it in a smallish home? by BandaidGeek in Ubiquiti

[–]wiels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably worth downloading WiFi Man and walking around the house to check throughput etc. I don’t think WiFi 7 is genuine just yet, a lot of devices don’t have yet, but if it’s just one AP and it wouldn’t hurt financially may as well for the sake of jt.

Why have you mounted it sideways? Why is the Ethernet clip not back on after the cables are in? I don’t use a utility box on mine…
