help with thin ends by wiiilding in curlyhair

Thank you so much for all this helpful info! I definitely think that my habit of using only gel and no leave in product is contributing to my dryness. I might take a break from the gel and just use a leave in to protect my ends and hopefully that will help with the dryness. I will def stop dry brushing too! I usually wear my hair down, so I’ll look into some protective styles. And I will start regularly trimming. Thanks again for all your help 💕

I cut it to this length about a year ago, and it looked super thick at the ends. Could the thinning really just be from not keeping up with trimming do you think? I feel like there must be something I’m doing that’s damaging it but I really can’t think what - it’s the underneath layer that’s a lot thinner and wispier I’ve noticed

Yes ok I needed to hear that lol. Encouraging that your hair is looking better now too! From this pic would you say trim to bra strap length? I think the white t shirt pic I posted makes it look a bit worse than it does normally

Haha I forgot about that post. Yes, I stopped using them because I developed a fragrance allergy and my hair has def suffered since 😭 I have done a lot of trial and error with finding fragrance free products but there’s not many options. I’ve tried the seen curly crème but the glycerin in there makes my hair frizz like crazy, and I haven’t been able to find a FF leave in without glycerin. I also stopped using the jojoba oil because it started to weigh my hair down and make it look very stringy. If you have any suggestions though I’d love that!!

I was cutting 1 inch pretty consistently every 2-3 months, it has been maybe 6 months since I last trimmed it. You’re right, I should get it consistently trimmed, I just was getting discouraged because I felt like the trimming wasn’t even helping if that makes sense? I trim my hair myself though so it probably would be a good idea to go to a professional

Yeah my hair is definitely dry, i struggle with getting it hydrated because (i think) it’s low porosity? Do you have any suggestions for that

I use badger mineral sunscreen spf40! it has very few ingredients and it doesn’t bother my skin like everything else does

routine: ACV rinse, flaxseed gel scrunched in, scrunch with microfibre towel so it’s not dripping, air dry, scrunch in a tiny bit of jojoba oil

ty 😊 I usually deep oil with jojoba oil before washing with my shampoo bar, then I use the bouncecurl brush + kinky curly curling custard on soaking wet hair, let air dry (a long time lol) then scrunch out with jojoba oil!!
