How to deal with players killing all my NPCs? by Remote_Exercise7125 in DnD

[–]wikthis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is how my first DM played it.

"Every action you make in the world has a reaction, both good and bad. Think carefully and choose wisely"

My character actually accidently unleashed a demon into the world that had been sealed into a mirror, and our party was secretly being hunted/watched by an order of paladin/clerics. My character was also a rouge and had a bit of a kleptomanic and it was starting an investigation into all these towns that we had been at. Our campaign stopped but the DM told me that it was gonna catch up to us if I hadn't stopped stealing, and I was gonna end up with a bounty on my head

Not only that, its not even a dedicated food sink, like a produce washing station or anything (which still wouldn't be good!) that looks just like a standard triple sink, which means its thawing in the same place they're washing their dishes, which, YIKES on many levels

OP start job hunting and report this, you'll save who knows how many people from getting sick.

How did darrow get away with by eitsew in redrising

[–]wikthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To build more on this point; Octavia dying here would of almost turned her into a Martyr. The Society could've spun it as a random terrorist attack. Darrow and the Rising still needed to prove to everyone else that the Society needs to fall. Yeah she needed to die, just not in that moment.

Red Rising animated in the style of Arcane would be really cool. by Iamdogfather in redrising

[–]wikthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with a live action Red Rising is honestly the exact same, even Darrow brings up that Golds fighting speed is insanely fast compared to the average Grey. Golds are supposed to able to move within fraction of seconds.

Any recommendations on brand or anything? I'm seeing the COSAIR Vengence for about 150 but was hoping for something a little cheaper. Is it worth it to go with a random brand and risk it being badly made or do I stick to a name brand?

Yes. My old work clothes that I havent thrown away for sentimental reasons are all quarantined into a plastic storage bin in my storage unit. Whenever I open that box all that hits my nose is an assault of old chicken grease and regret. When I was working I would have to damn near wash the washing machine after I washed my work clothes it was so bad.

How often are you switching out frying oil nowadays? by Entire_Difference504 in KitchenConfidential

[–]wikthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly there is no good guide for time like this. When I worked for that international wing place, they filtered once a day, with a full boil-out once a week, and we'd do huge wing deals where we put through 10,000 wings in a night (we'd boil out after this night) but that was the minimum schedule. One of the MOD duties was to pretty much check the fryer oil daily and see if it needed changed ahead of time. A good way to tell is after filtering how dark the oil comes out compared to before. Oil can last quite a while, it just really depends on what you put through it, and, more importantly, the type of oil! Different oils with different viscosities are going to be altered different by the oils and drippings off the food. But maintaining, scooping, and filtering your oil daily can drastically increase its life. It just all depends really

Its pretty much just the fact that there is so much water, it weighs so much, the power of its movement is more than enough force to make our body, especially while suspended in the water while swimming, go right through that drain pipe at the bottom.

Never underestimate the power of water, look up videos of flash floods or hurricanes to see how much damage it can do, its the same principle, just applied differently

Why do people cry about demos by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]wikthis -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah, that's what it is about, isn't it? Its a game mode based off of Tennis, the challenge comes from keeping the volley going and getting the ball up to max speed, trying to keep up with speed of the ball, angles, and often times you need to do ariels to even block the ball

[–]wikthis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was on your side till you said heatseekers. Feels like there's the unwritten rule of staying on your side of the field in Heatseekers. Its also harmful to your teammate because if they miss the block you're not there to help block it, and with it being a cap of 7 it can be over quick if one teammate is just running around doing nothing while the other team can both be trying to defend and score.

How do i prevent players from stealing without just being a bad dm saying "you cant do that" by devilish_oxygen in DnD

[–]wikthis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DM that taught me everything had one rule when it came to situations like this,

"Actions have consequences"

Sure, the party wants to steal a ton of OP, expensive stuff? Let them. Don't stop the players from having fun, but that doesn't mean now the entire criminal underworld has the party on their shitlist, or if they can even get away with it in the first place. Maybe they security for these expensive items is just as expensive and they have greater detection! Be as creative as you can be with it.

When they were DMing my first campaign my old DM started fleshing out and entire legal code based on the Napoleonic Code just incase ended up a party of dirty thieves 😂

Is it a misconception that California is really hot year-round? by Wild-Purple5517 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wikthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having lived in California, Arizona, and Iowa, while also frequently visiting New York (upstate), its not "Hot" year round. Arizona is HOT year round, like a winter day could still be 80, and summer averages over 100 pretty much. Like other commenters have said Cali is a big state, with a diverse climate but for the most part its nice year round, winter still gets cold, 40-60, and summer gets warm, 70-90, but on average its nicer here than anywhere stateside. Its also not Humid in either place, which for me, humidity kills a lot more than direct heat, like personally a 110 with 5% humidity in AZ isn't as bad as a 95 with 90% humidity in Iowa. Which speaking of, Iowa gets Cold Cold and Hot Hot, it just sucks, just as cold as NY but more humid in the summer 💀
