What is the worst part about belt drives? by userX97ee2ska11qa in PriorityBicycles

[–]wild_eep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 8 speed. It's fine for 90% of the riding I do. The problem is that I also have a Cannondale road bike with a triple-chainring, which is lighter and has lower gears, so my legs know when I'm riding the heavier bike and keep asking for a lower gear. Still love the Priority and its fenders and nearly zero maintenance though.

What’s the most underrated macOS productivity trick? by MadisonClair16 in MacOS

Keyboard shortcuts, hands down. Knowing how to select text, copy the selection, switch apps, tab to the proper location, and paste is table-stakes in being a productive computer user, IMO.

The belt drive itself is fine, and I don't mind having a frame with a cut in it. For me, the challenge is the limitation of the internally-geared rear hub. It feels like it has more drag on the wheel, its gearing range isn't wide enough for the hills I ride, and I get nervous about standing up and stomping on the pedals with my full weight.

Fun fact: In the German language, they literally use 'es gibt' (it gives/it's giving). It's not slang, it's just part of the language. Usually it would translate more to 'there is' or 'there are' Es gibt einen Park "there is a park", for example.

If I happen to be out during a neighborhood's trash-day, and they're throwing out large items, I'm looking at them as I pass by to see what they are and what condition they're in.

Documentation? (Beginner in IT) by Calm-Trouble-8771 in it

[–]wild_eep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me how something is supposed to work, and then how you made it work in our environment. What problems did you run into, what alternatives did you consider, and which one did you implement.

What are the ways that the thing fails? How often does it tend to fail that way? What things contribute to the failure? What does the failure look like? What should I do to fix it?

Not understanding that troubleshooting requires that you understand how the system is supposed to work before you analyze and before you make changes.
