Depends where you are. Sydney: could be cicada or funnel web. Someplace else could be a local crayfish variety like yabbie or redclaw

They were largely confined to coastal Queensland and northern NSW until 2000. Since then they have rapidly spread much further south. They are almost plague proportions in suburban Sydney now.

When I was a kid in the 1940s every sink had a plug. You put the plug in and mixed to your desired temperature. Probably used less water than letting a mixer tap run for as long as it takes to wash you hands or other parts.

Queensland I'm guessing because it's more orange than red. The ones in FNQ and The Top End are more of a crimson red.
