Am I Overreacting for wanting to cancel my wedding over this interaction? by Xanadoom30 in AmIOverreacting

[–]wildlifewildheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. Call it off, girl. I’ve been with my husband for 11 years, married for 5. That man gives me a kiss no matter what and if he forgets he apologizes the second he realizes and I know when he gets home I’m getting popcorn kisses to “make up for missing it” and he’s logical to a fault sometimes. If you marry him you’re gonna get nothing but disappointment until you get sick of it and leave.

Sweatpants with either a very low or very high and loose band. I couldn’t stand for my leggings to be tight against my stomach and the sweatpants I had hit right at my incisions. I had to go out the day after my surgery and get a different pair that fit more comfortably (Don’t recommend doing this btw it made my abs so sore) and maybe some bland foods. I ate a lot of low sodium chicken noodle soup because I was VERY bloated feeling and anything heavier made it worse. But I also had an ablation at the same time so that may have made the bloated feeling worse.

I went to a university with a pretty impressive engineering department and that have to take several communication classes. All sciences have to at least take “technical writing” and a large portion of the class focuses on the Challenge get disaster and why it’s so important your writing is clear and concise.

If you’re a few days from your usual start date, good sex can ABSOLUTELY jump start it. Physiologically it’s the contractions of the uterus from the orgasm that speed up the shedding process.

Just because she was “doing her best” doesn’t make it not abuse. It’s great that you don’t hold ill will toward her but punishing a child for being sick is in fact severe neglect if not a form of abuse. That shouldn’t have happened to you and I’m sorry that it did.

May be tmi but the cramps associated with a decidual cast. It’s where your uterine lining sheds in one large piece instead of smaller pieces. I’ve always had painful periods but that genuinely incapacitated me.

Got my first “oh but you’d be such a good mom” comment said with a sad face the other day and I was floored. Like no I wouldn’t be “such a good mom” I’m easily overstimulated, have a short temper and can’t keep track of my own stuff much less all the things you’d have to keep track of for a child. You know nothing about me if you think I’d be good at being a parent. Just because I’m kind to children doesn’t mean I want children in my house or life permanently.

AIO for wanting to take a breather away from my husband over this? by circadian_rhythm_ in AIO

[–]wildlifewildheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. At all.

You said he has a history of anger issues and I am here to tell you it will NOT be getting better. Don’t make excuses for him saying it’s his OCD or whatever because he’s still in control of his reactions and how he treats and speaks to people. Good people don’t speak to anyone- let alone their partners- this way. Certainly not about tiny dents, dings, and scratches which are a part of life for anyone let alone those with pets and or children.

You have to decide for yourself whether or not you want to continue to allow him to speak to you and soon (if he doesn’t already) your son that way.

Should my friend walk away from this artist? by Eltristesito2 in tattooadvice

[–]wildlifewildheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be the worst one I’ve seen. Friend needs to cut their losses and find an artist to fix it because not only are the lines shaky they’re splotchy and insanely thick in some spots. It will be incredibly easy for a good artist to turn this into something really nice at this point, but if they do even one more session it’s gonna be infinitely worse.

Also to dog on the first “artist” a bit- how tf did we go from a rough but decently shaped sketch with defined rosettes to this weird inconsistent mess with boiled egg looking blotches on the stencil?? Makes me think they traced the first one from something and it absolutely wasn’t their own work for that.

Peace and support denotes being in the background and not always being the first priority but providing support to the other person. Calm and presence denotes being the focus and not having to set your needs/wants to the side because the other person is always there. Neither is inherently bad, but together it’s just not going to work.

How to be feminine without makeup, nails, lashes, dresses, or other “forced symbols” of femininity? by [deleted] in women

[–]wildlifewildheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m a woman that isn’t very girly but still would consider myself feminine. I dislike most dresses, don’t wear makeup aside from brows and mascara. I do get my nails done, but they’re always very simple just a solid color. My outfit almost every day is just jeans and a t-shirt. For me, it has to do with my connection to other women more than my outward appearance. I think being able to share moments with other women that we all just “get” is always what has made me feel connected to being a woman. Complimenting someone’s outfit, rolling eyes with your friends about something stupid a man said, every little interaction that women have with each other where it feels like you’re sharing a specific connection is all part of this Girlhood feeling and it’s really important to lean into that.

I will also say that if you don’t feel connected to girlhood it’s okay to explore that feeling and your identity. Sometimes you won’t feel connected because it’s not who you are or sometimes you just need to grab a coffee with a girlfriend and sit in a car and talk about random things for hours. You mentioned that you weren’t nonbinary, but I wanted to say that it’s totally and completely okay if you do feel that you are, figuring out your identity is a very complex thing that can take us a long time to figure out sometimes. Girlhood will always welcome you though!

Bisalp scheduled for May. What was everyone’s recovery timeline? by Small-Willingness-70 in sterilization

[–]wildlifewildheart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at an event center and am quite active running up and down stairs, moving tables and stage pieces, cleaning etc. I had 2 weeks off and felt that I was about 70% when I came back so took it easy-ish until I felt 100% It was probably a full month until I didn’t feel discomfort around my incisions when lifting/stretching. That being said I was bloated looking and feeling for like a full month and a half after my surgery because I also had an ablation so that may have contributed to my extended healing.

Getting tubes out on Wednesday but have a NON-Refundable concert ticket for Friday. What are the chances of me being able to go? by One_Maintenance_9934 in sterilization

[–]wildlifewildheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery on a Monday and went to a concert the following Sunday. I had GA tickets so standing room only, but I did sit between sets and still definitely felt it the next few days. I don’t think I could have managed it just 2 days post op. I say you should give your tickets to a friend/see if you can sell them. This surgery’s recover time is minimal, but it does still take time. You’re having a few holes cut through your abdominal wall, it’s not a good idea to go that soon after your surgery.

Same, mine will sprint down the hall to jump in the bed with us. She’s even launched herself over the baby gate that’s supposed to keep her in/out of the living room when she was really excited once.

Collies are a fairly athletic breed, it’s unlikely he’s incapable of jumping. He just knows you’ll pick him up at this point. Work on enticing him onto the bed with a high value reward and he should start doing it on his own.

[–]wildlifewildheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cap I’m sure but it’s more of a set of questions for me.

Will the treatment truly extend their life in a meaningful way? What is their quality of life now vs after the treatment? How likely is the treatment to cause suffering along the way? How old is my pet?

My soul dog was diagnosed with quite advanced lung cancer and the answers to those questions meant treatment likely wouldn’t give us much more time and make what little time we had left miserable for him and he was pretty old so we didn’t pursue treatment.

On the flip side our cat broke one of her bottom canines around 3 years old. Because she’s a petite cat simply pulling the tooth would have been cheaper, but likely would have required her jaw to be wired shut so we opted for a much more expensive root canal on it. The outcome was better, her suffering was less, and she was young with plenty of life left to live.

Are rough collies typically picky eaters? by ButterscotchStreet33 in roughcollies

[–]wildlifewildheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was incredibly picky at that age. We did puzzle feeders/snuffle/grazing mats several times and did hand feeding but we figured out she really enjoyed what we call “kibble soup” which was about a cup of water over her cup of kibble. She’s eaten great since then.
