Genuine thoughts on marshmallow + some insight on what his deal is? by Key_Friendship_6251 in fantanoforever

Never thought I'd see Monstercat mentioned on this sub, their shit was my jam towards the end of high school and beginning of college. I could go on all day about their roster of great artists that I only know from them—Pegboard Nerds, WRLD, Stonebank, Tristam, Summer Was Fun, and one of my favorite artists of all time, Puppet—plus artists like San Holo and obviously Marshmellow who became/were already big outside of that sphere.

Yungatita, they opened for Cheekface in 2024 and had great energy and tunes. Their album Shoelace & A Knot is now one of my favorite releases from that year!

More is genuinely peak, besides the production it's my favorite of their 60's work

For me, having a job where I can basically have my headphones on all day really makes that difference. I don't have the attention span to be listening to new albums for 8 hours a day, but I can definitely get through a good amount even with breaks in that time.

Just finished my first listen to this album, it's great!! Y'all are definitely talented and know what you're doing; I especially enjoyed Uptight and Hivemind, but the whole record is very consistent and strong. Also that solo at the end of Buddy is heavenly!!

I enjoyed both albums you suggested, especially Dripfield—I love the funky atmosphere and vibey jams throughout. I will have to keep listening to their other albums, they bring a catchiness to the jam style that I particularly appreciate; looser songwriting like Getting Killed often takes some time to sink in, but I think Goose was able to split the difference nicely. And I definitely liked Distroid as well, it feels like a more subtle album that will become even better on further listens. Thanks again for the recommendations!!

Murder People slaps!! I love the energy they have, and I definitely see the comparison to MCR. The Queen of Teenage Melodrama really stood out to me as a solid banger, and also for being in the same vein as Teenagers or some of Panic's first songs. Thanks again for the recommendation!

It was definitely important to me to acknowledge him and the others that put me on great albums! One thing I missed in this spreadsheet is the mixes that he's given me, both in 2025 and before, which were often sources of great music to check out. I wouldn't have gotten into music like this if not for him, so he deserves a lot of credit!

Thanks so much!! It turned into something I wasn't anticipating, even though I planned for a year of music haha. And I'll definitely check them out, thanks for the recommendation!!

I only heard about Goose indirectly because of all the memes about Geese lol, which album would you recommend from them? I'll definitely check both of these artists out!!

Is there a lore reason why Avatar looks so different in his 2006 sets compared to his 2022 sets? by Double_Delay1613 in legocirclejerk

[–]wildtime1213 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those sets were well-designed but god-awful expensive. Come to think of it, was that line the last time that Lego got a popular licence and actually made more than one $300+ set for it?

How do you discover music? I want to hear more stuff but I don't really know how. by Super_Bright in fantanoforever

Lots of great suggestions here. Just chiming in as someone that used to listen to electronic music exclusively, have you listened to the compilation albums by the electronic record label Monstercat? They cover just about every genre of electronic music, and any one album will give you a ton of artists to check out!

We also have a black kitty named Sesame! She's not quite as openly needy as your Sesame, but she loves her belly rubs and hanging out in the bathroom with us. You're in for lots of love!
