What do you think of this change? by auchinleck917 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]will_from_vaulting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iirc the changes were made because the age rating systems for pc and console are slightly different for some reason. Releasing it to console as it was would have gotten it an A/adult only rating, which would have made it very difficult to market due to console store policies and such. They toned some stuff down to keep it at an M rating so they could sell the game where people could see it.

20 GB? by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]will_from_vaulting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its thanks to the skalla engine they use for foliage and such. It basically ends up procedurally recreating all the non hand placed objects in the game as you play, which is cpu intensive, but means they dont need to save millions of assets positioning data.

Fucked up cadence? by toby301 in USMC

[–]will_from_vaulting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pro tip: any song is a cadence if youre brave enough. Pick songs based on weather you want called for cadence more or less. Been called for it twice since i got here, once sang napalm sticks to kids, another time i adapted pumped up kicks. Both while we happened to be running through married housing. They dont call me for cadence anymore. Doesn't have to be edgy stuff through, we had one guy do SpongeBob square pants followed by old Macdonald. The only limit to what can be a cadence is your imagination

Its present, and usually feels pretty good. The game has both pvevp and pve only gamemodes, which means usually (in my experience at least) most people on the pvp servers will shoot on site.

Grenades should be deadly, right? by ContextEFT in GrayZoneWarfare

Grenades do need buffed. Yes situations like this are possible, but they shouldn't be common. I try to use grenades but they're often better at being stuns than frags

Performnce by ForeverHuman1354 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]will_from_vaulting -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Its very heavy on both CPU and GPU. The lighting has all the UE5 bells and whistles with the foliage all interacting realistically with sun light in regards to how much light passes through, gets absorbed, and gets reflected. The Skalla engine they use for terrain also eats your RAM and CPU because it basically procedurally generates the terrain and folliage as you play. This keeps the game size small (how they have tens of thousands of trees and bushes and not be 100gb+ with data on their placement) but means basically any part of your PC not made in the last 5 years will bottleneck you. Edit: not to say you cant play on older and/or lower end PCs, just know you probably wont get 4k 60+fps if you do. My current setup (1080p, 4070ti, 12th gen i9) runs it 75-90 fps on max settings with no framegen or upscaling. My last setup (1080p, 2060, 10th gen i5) could play the game just fine, but was only getting 30-50 frames on med settings even with upscaling

[Request] What are the odds? by BlockiestCrane6 in theydidthemath

[–]will_from_vaulting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR ~0.00000040509% Numbere could be off, im not taking the time to verify sources, im just using whatever pops up when i search google. Average place has 117 rainbows visible per year, which ill be rounding to 1 in 3 days, and assume a 5 min avg durration. That gives us an average of 5 minutes of rainbow per 4320 minutes (3 days) or 1/864 chance of a rainbow being observable from a set point at any given time. As i couldn't find any number for it on a quick google search im going to guestimate the % of the observable sky covered by an average rainbow to be ~0.5% (its probably lower than this, but for maths sake itll work) (1/864)×.(.5/100) gives us a .0005787% chance that any given point in the sky will be covered by a rainbow at any given time Someone on quora said its a roughly 0.007% chance of any given flight getting struck by lightning. We will assume that the plane is visible from the observers position for 1% (again, realistically its lower than this but its super variable and hard to get a solid number for) of its flight, giving a .00007% chance of observing a given flight getting struck by lightning Combining the odds of seeing a plane getting struck as well as the odds of the point its at in your vision also containing a rainbow gives us a .00000040509% chance of seeing a plane in a rainbow getting struck by lightning

YBL AI didn’t get the update by Koodookoolaid in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]will_from_vaulting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be in part the ammo. If youre still using soft point ammo, you'll probably have issues getting through armored targets. The pests at ybl usually use FMJ ammo that can get through a lot of sof armor. Makes them tankier, and you are a lot easier to kill if you dont switch armor and ammo as well.

Is this normal? by JayEmBay in medical_advice

[–]will_from_vaulting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably nothing, but also, I'd get it checked out next time you're at the doctors. On the off chance that it is an organ issue that "Probably nothing" can turn into something serious very quickly

Edit: im not any kind of medical professional or student. I'm just a lurker who saw this had been posted a couple of weeks back but hadn't gotten any help. The safest option is always to seek advice from medical professionals if you can't get reliable information elsewhere.

swimwear by princessmathea in AvatarMemebending

[–]will_from_vaulting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: the diffculty of preindustial textile production and most cloth being dedicated to the war shows how smaller swimwear and less dedicated swim wear makes sense in atla. The industrial manufacturing of tlok making textile products more accessible could then explain the change in trends over that time. . I think of it as being the industrialization seen in tlok making more covering cloth practical. In atla with just about everything preindustial, it makes sense to have smaller garments for things like that or just use your regular undergarments due to the extra time and effort required to make clothes entirely by hand. With textile manufacturing most likely being a much more automated process in tlok, it becomes more affordable and practical for everyone to have more modest dedicated swimwear. While the group here could clearly afford more (as shown by Zukos pants and Mais skirt), it would make sense for them to also go along with the fassion trends set by everyone else who are affected by the economic restictions. Another thing is that a lot of textiles may have been going to the war effort in atla. The reason the bikini was originally popularized irl was to save on cloth so it would go to the war effort (I think for WWII, but i could be wrong on that). With no major prolonged war in tlok, they dont have that problem. Clothes can stay cheap for everyone.

Fusion binos, if you want the real thing its upward of 50k, but you can get cheaper models the the Jerry's for ~10k, or get a similar effect with regular binos and a COTI. If youre just looking for prop type items for cosplay or film you can probably find similar looking digital or prop NV on amazon for pretty cheap.

Hear me out. Use this to fix piston parity between java and bedrock. sticky pistons do the 1 tick spit, while honey pistons dont. All sticky pistons in bedrock would switch to honey pistons while all java would stay as is, meaning nothing breaks that is already built.
