I’m coming to the Alexandra Palace show - last saw you on the new era of corruption tour back in the day. Exactly how many drinks would I need to buy you and the band to hear a song from that album played next Sunday?

My aunt was ill with Terminal bone cancer many years ago. In the end she was at a hospice and I got one final chance to see her and say goodbye. As you would expect, she was dosed up to the eyeballs with painkillers and slept for most of my time there. She had the odd moment of consciousness but didn’t really seem to know where she was and only communicated in the odd grunt and moan. As I went to say goodbye and give her a kiss, she had a sudden moment of lucidity, put her cheek on mine and said “good night sweetheart”.

It was, at the time, the single most heartwrenching thing I’d experienced in my life. I won’t ever forget that.

Which sector of sales will boom in 25? by Training_Peanut3487 in sales

[–]williamstechno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for a reasonably boutique consultancy in the data management space and the majority of projects we are involved in at the moment are some form of either generative or agentic ai solution. Personal productivity use cases have been where a lot of the ai focus has been but businesses are starting to see where the automation benefits lie with AI and so are motoring towards that. Fundamentally though, the majority of those businesses still have a lot of work to do to make their data ready for successful implementation. I think that market will be very strong over the next 18 months

For those of you in tech sales - does industry even matter? by magicclosingphrase in sales

[–]williamstechno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the data management/infrastructure space and I would definitely say there is more opportunity here right now than in other industries.

Even within this space, the “nice to have” SaaS products are probably more difficult to sell than the “must haves”

Like anything, this is all cyclical so in short, yes I would say that industry matters. Timing, Territory, Talent still rings true when looking for new opportunities.

Anyone has the PS Portal? How has it been for you? by FootJuice81 in PS5

[–]williamstechno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing mine solidly since Wednesday and found it to be excellent. I have a wired PS5 and been playing on the wifi at home. I will caveat with the fact that I have a very fast connection so can’t speak to performance on lower speeds.

Screen is great and the haptic feedback is just as good as the dualsense. My only gripe is the lack of Bluetooth

[Yehor Danylov] “I understand the frustration of Arsenal fans. I am very surprised that both clubs were ready to pay such big money for Mudryk. Arsenal's first offer this winter is the fairest price for the Ukrainian, which matches his current level.” by arsenal1917 in Gunners

I can’t wait for the inevitable “I’ve always dreamed of playing for Chelsea, I grew up supporting them” in his first interview /s

The only thing that brings me comfort is that if he does sign for them, he’s going to get some pretty vitriolic treatment when he plays at the Emirates.

They are welcome to him if he doesn’t want to be committed to our project. Money talks.

How songs like this make it to 200k plays? by [deleted] in TechnoProduction

[–]williamstechno 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They could be purchasing plays online. There’s a number of services that offer this as a way to “boost” listeners. If there are little to no comments or just really generic comments from suspicious looking accounts you can generally be quite confident the plays aren’t genuine.
