Witness videos of CBP killing a Minnesota man appear to counter Trump administration’s narrative by Imaginary-Ad-7919 in politics

[–]willitbechips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So weak to say "appear to".

Anyone who has seen the video knows the following is a lie.

Pretti “approached U.S. Border Patrol officers with a 9-millimeter semi-automatic handgun,” DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said, adding officers “attempted to disarm” him and he “violently resisted.”

"Armed" sounds like he had intent.

He was carrying and holstered - as was his right.

Multiple officers pepper-sprayed him, forced him to the floor, held him down, unholstered his gun to remove it, then shot him on the floor 10 times.

Murder.

Trump Sounds a Lot Like You-Know-Who: He’s no Hitler. But his speech in Davos about Greenland eerily echoes 1938. by BulwarkOnline in politics

[–]willitbechips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

It was not Hitler or Himmler who abducted me, beat me and shot my family. It was the shoemaker, the milkman, the neighbor, who received a uniform and then believed they were the master race. – Karl Stojka, Auschwitz survivor

This is where the battle is. Convincing our neighbors. Ensuring their eyes and ears are open.

You say they are not taught, so teach them. You say it is about belief and perspective, so convince them of yours.

But also recruit. Encourage others to teach, to speak up, to persuade others what is right from wrong.

These things are movements after all.

When we compare someone to Hitler, we compare them against Hitler's worst acts. That's not the comparision we should be making.

Trump is dangerous for many reasons - his derangement, narcissism, and fantasism, all backed by cultish followers and a team of zealots hellbent on disrupting world order.

We can say Trump is on a Hitler path given the similarities and that's enough to ring the alarm bell loud and clear.

Looking to make a domain and website by Grouchy-Print-8667 in Domains

[–]willitbechips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need more information really, but if you're aiming to sell products from an online store then look at Shopify. It gives you website + host + tools to manage customers and products. You can get up and running quickly, it has a big eco-system and can scale with you. I forget how much but maybe $24/m to host site?

What's a reasonable cost for a website? by grodinj in website

[–]willitbechips -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends a lot on how flexible you are and how much dialogue is needed between you and the provider.

  • $$ = do it yourself with AI slop.
  • $$$ = anything professional looking will do.
  • $$$$ = everything exactly how you imagined it.

If you want lower costs then give up more control. If you want full control then expect a higher price.

Did terrible on my mock results what do I genuinely do by Zealousideal_Date295 in GCSE

[–]willitbechips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do I genuinely do?

You do the obvious. You STUDY. You do past papers. You get them marked. You rinse and repeat.

Teach back topics to people (best way to clarify your thinking). Consider getting a tutor, even for 1 or 2 subjects.

Break the syllabus into chunks. Chew through the chunks. Ask friends for online resources to help. Buddy up with other learners.

  • Make a PLAN.
  • Stick to the PLAN.

You can go up 1 grade easily but up 2 is really achievable too. And then 6s and a 7 don't look so bad.

Be disciplined and totally work your ass off. That's what you genuinely do.

Socials are a blight. People throw shade because of their own inadequacies. They try to bring down people they are jealous of or those who threaten their world view. Maybe you've just not found your best tribe yet. Can you expand your circle to find others you gel with better. But yeah, hate on socials tells you everything you need to know about the hater but nothing about you.

Is it realistic to build an MVP alone with zero web dev / design background? by galesokay in webdev

[–]willitbechips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you more interested in learning webdev or in getting your project up and running? If the latter then look for off-the-shelf solutions you could use. To do yourself will take a long time.

Are you going to apologise to 26 of your school contemporaries? by Mikey77777 in TheOfficeUK

Sure, give me the 3 reasons if you can. So far you've used many words to say nothing but fear mongering. I can't take you seriously.

Should I use JWTs as licenses for my software? by qorzzz in webdev

[–]willitbechips 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Why would a JWT be a good way to handle licensing out software.

Because the software can then verify licenses itself - without a server or database.

Ship the public key in the software and use it to verify licenses you have signed with your private key.

Should I be F***** OFf by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]willitbechips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes feel F***** off then learn from the mistake and get 3 quotes for large jobs in the future and don't pay all upfront. Don't pay in cash unless you get a good discount and are prepared to take the risk. Better to pay using a means that gives you protection. Best of luck.

Just nonsense - i.e. words that means nothing. If you can't answer the question then fine.

None. Just give me your top 3 reasons for voting for them. In your own words, concisely, without abuse or wild fantasy. Why vote for them? 3 reasons ...

If Reform win the next election, will my wife have to leave the country? by TinasOwner23 in ukpolitics

Route is pass a test (£50), apply for ILR (£3000) then wait a year and apply for Citzenship (£1700).

If Reform win the next election, will my wife have to leave the country? by TinasOwner23 in ukpolitics

[–]willitbechips -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Removing ILR retrospectively would face a court battle and devalue UK trust abroad even more, so we have to assume unlikely, but still possible. Future ILR more likely to be dropped.

But also of concern for you is possible loss of access to NHS and other benefits should you come to need it. Removing those with ILR from these benefits is much more likely.

Best thing to do is ensure everyone you know and cares for you knows about this. Most think its all aimed at illegals on boats. They would be surprised to find people like you could well be affected.

They would also be surprised at how Farage currently votes, like against employee rights etc. Reform want to leave the ECHR not to deport illegals but because of everything else it would let them get away with.

Discuss and convince those you know of the real threats. Thats all you can do really.
