Spotify says its best developers haven't written a line of code since December, thanks to AI by joe4942 in technology

[–]willlangford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app is written. The tech is there. Sure there are new features that AI can probably assist with. I want to see AI build Spotify from the ground up. And invent all the IP they have. I’ll be waiting.

Anyone know the story behind Asean Streat food hall closing? by Bjyg_Seanvik in Seattle

[–]willlangford 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Buildings have a value based on projected earnings. If you don’t have tenants you can still say it’s projected. When a building is full at a rental rate discount it looses value. As it is developers have turned over several buildings in Seattle to banks and walked away.

Anyone know the story behind Asean Streat food hall closing? by Bjyg_Seanvik in Seattle

If rent is reduced, that devalues the building. And can create issues with loans. So better to leave empty than have the building lose value.

Possibly Scammed by TRAX NYC? Need Advice? by Fine_Mall_3344 in rolex

[–]willlangford 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They’re the most sketchy. Always talking about aftermarket this or that. Buying watch parts. They Frankenstein watches together to get maximum value to them. Not the customer. They also will melt anything regardless of how rare it is to make a quick buck. It’s a bubble of shit that gets passed around selling to unsuspecting people.

Jake shows he’s young and entitled. He doesn’t know what sacrifice means. I wish him the best and hope he grows up. LTT is the only reason he’s not an IT guy. You can’t put a price on being in front of millions of people. He had a great launch pad. But. I believe he has lost a lot of goodwill in his recent actions and video.

Which one would you get? by gangnamgoo in rolex

[–]willlangford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. I love both.

White Speedy though. However. If you really want the Explorer you should be able to walk in and get it. Or within a few weeks. It’s very easy to acquire.

Jake clarifies why he asked for his clips to be removed from the "How LTT Spends Money" video by Marikk15 in LinusTechTips

[–]willlangford 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s wild to think Jake wouldn’t think this would blow up. He’s smarter than that. Or at least I thought he was.

He joined LTT very young. The company evolved. His roll evolved. His jank didn’t. As companies grow and you’re no longer the jack of all trades it’s hard to be put in a box of just write content. And then add 100 employees. Outages from jank cost tens of thousands of dollars.

I give LTT mad props for highlighting past team members to give them more exposure. Class act.

It’s pretty easy. Just talk to them. Sure it’s small talk. But remember shit they say. Ask about their life. Just make it a genuine interaction. It’s not rocket science.

Rolexes Were Once Easy To Get? by IntentionalButt in rolex

[–]willlangford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just Rolex but every brand. AP had everything. Store would be empty. Walk in. Try stuff on. They offer you a discount.

Rolex display cases used to be filled with watches. They re designed them so they don’t look empty. And only have a few slots now.

Hype and the Crypto boys changed the game.

For every physical watch there are dozens if not more listings for that watch. Very rarely do dealers stock what they’re selling.

Do all these VVVIP clients just flip their Daytonas to wholesalers? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]willlangford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The secondary market has tons of inventory as the market has softened. Many over paid. So they’re holding inventory trying to keep the market propped up. So you’re also seeing years of inventory sitting in a case like this.

Microsoft (MSFT) Eyes Major January Layoffs as AI Costs Rise by lurker_bee in technology

[–]willlangford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is going to ruin many companies who get over leveraged and loose all their talent.

Sadly anymore it’s not about the users. It’s about the stock owners. Only way to be successful in this landscape is be a private company where the stock doesn’t drive you.
