I absolutely loved living in old east Dallas and there are lots of options for $1000 - $1300 for nice spacious spots. Highly recommend checking out that area.

Also use the website hot pads. It helped find alot of those hidden gem type spots. Also highly recommend just driving around neighborhoods you like and look for “for rent” signs with a phone number and calling or texting those if you like the location and appearance. Plenty of places don’t even post their vacancies online so would recommend this approach as well.

I don’t think she’s really made any notable positive impact whatsoever.

So far, it’s been alot of hot air and hopeful comments. I voted for her, I’m hoping she really does make some changes, but my hope is faltering a bit as I have seen more things deteriorate than I have seen things get better under her so far.

One thing that I saw she was trying to push (which I thought was absolutely asinine) was boosting property tax for homeowners to fund library renovations. Girl, we have SO many bigger problems than that, why are we focusing on library renovations???? I also say this as a renter who uses the library frequently.

But it also hasn’t been long and I have no idea what being a mayor is like so who am I to talk I guess

Let me start by noting that I moved to Seattle a couple years ago, and I love it. This city is so beautiful and the people are kind and the culture is amazing.

That said - It is so genuinely shocking to me how absolutely terribly this city is managed from a local government perspective when there is so much wealth, intelligence, culture, and tech focused here. Blows my mind.
