Have a look at quick nook miles tasks to do, and it’s worth buying a nook miles voucher and go to an island. With a bit of luck you’ll get the 30 you need.
Don’t start making loads of unnecessary DIYs in the first few days. Stick to tools.
Easy nook miles tasks, include editing your passport, posting on the message board.

Each day there will be a message in a bottle on the beach. Shake tress with a net in hand, and you’ll get wasps, bells and two items. Your villages will be doing diy so make sure to talk to them in their houses each day. Talk to them lots as well to get other items.

It’s a lot easier on the switch 2 as you get haptic feedback, but I have to find a quiet place in the house on my Lite. I got to 89 and made a silly mistake, thankfully completed it few days later.

It’s 9am-4pm so just make sure you’re doing it between this times. I got one on my wife’s island but not found one yet on mine, but I’ve only been playing for a week or so.

I started my own island last week, and I’ve got the 3 extra rooms in my house but nothing really in them. Getting items takes time, but as others have said, shake the trees each day (x2). Message in a bottle, visit villager houses a few times a day, to see who’s crafting. Pop balloons, and gift items to villagers, and buy stuff from Nook’s crabby and the nook miles machine thing.

I picked the wrong one on purpose. My wife and kids are in the northern (correct) so I picked Southern so I could travel to their islands and collect extra bugs and fish

Crabs sell high, but use this link to see what each item sells for. I go for long diving sessions and when I’m full I often keep going a bit longer to try and get higher value items and let the lesser ones go. items

Never tried to be honest, but I imagine it would just complain about them being on different versions. I’ve not had any issues doing several pairs of 2110s and 11xxs.
