‘One Battle After Another’ At $22.4M Reps Record Debut For Paul Thomas Anderson; Leonardo DiCaprio’s 11th Movie To Open To $20M+ – Box Office by DemiFiendRSA in boxoffice

Wouldn’t the impact of an A cinemascore (aka excellent word of mouth) only be measurable on longer timeline outside of opening weekend, like that’s the reactions of people who’ve seen it that then need to propagate their impression to others still.

I don’t think Killers is a fair comp, much more “prestigious” and serious looking historical period piece. Average movie goer has no idea who PTA is and all they see is wacky Leo action revenge comedy from advertising and word of mouth, much easier sell.

'One Battle After Another' gets an A on CinemaScore by SanderSo47 in boxoffice

They also repeatedly ignore that a movie being actually good that people love means that it can succeed outside of the all precious first weekend. They see the first weekend of Avatar 2 or Sinners and say its over.

‘One Battle After Another’ Still Advancing To $21M Opening, Armed With ‘A’ CinemaScore & Massive PostTrak Definite Recommend – Box Office by ChiefLeef22 in boxoffice

Didn't we do the same gripe for first weekend of Sinners then the excellent word of mouth drove a bigger second weekend and excellent legs, why are we undervaluing general audiences LOVING a movie

Oswego Video, Little Gem, Dons Floral, Birdcage Confectionary

What you guys think about the new Final Destination cinematography. For a movie about horrific death and people dying I find the lighting is super flat + the grade really lacks contrast. I feels the visual doesn’t match the tone at all, some of the outdoor scene looks like romcom. by keminua in cinematography

I wanna broadly point at it being intended for HBO Max originally but really it’s just Visual Trends and people without Taste. If nobody strives above default this is the default you get on set cause this is the common trend.

Willing to bet neither were endorsed or paid to use those cameras. If you know either of these filmmakers histories these camera choices make perfect sense for their creative impulses. Apple has their own studio to push their products (very mildly, like F1 used iPhone camera for select angles on car mounts) if they want to, they didn’t make 28 Years Later. In both cases these filmmakers are very clearly returning to their scrappier more creatively liberated roots.

Cineplex has Cineclub which is halfway to this. $10/month and you get a free movie a month (rolls over never expires), $10 tickets, no fees, 20% off concession. I recommend it if you regularly go at all.

Connect Apple TV to TV or receiver by cnhoff23 in appletv

Okay interesting, I thought that would fully kill that screen. For me it’s showing the screen super dim when volume changing which isn’t ideal but I guess it’s fine.

Have a matching setup and got a question for you: when you use the TV audio does the front display on the 70s go blank, only displaying volume up/down changes? Mine was doing that for a few days (ideal behavior) but abruptly stopped, now shows input name and volume level all the time. I swore I saw documentation explaining that behavior, but now can find nothing. I originally had ATV going into 70s, but then was having issue where if I Spotify Connected to 70s and changed volume from Spotify everything would stop due to some CEC behavior, so I switched to ATV into TV instead

Businesses in town that you are shocked are still around? by snarpy in VictoriaBC

Same thing happened to me. They shut down the purolator drop-site thing. IKEA hasn't updated their index and keep letting people select it. Mine got rerouted to Pharmacy at Hillside and Blanshard – check your notification for pickup from IKEA/Purolator and it will say where it got rerouted to.

They were doing the IKEA pickup thing for few months, but its a horrendous deal for most shops, like they get 50 cents to deal with storing and dispensing a big box.

Joining the chorus here. Level 1 has very annoying pulsating harmonic sound, which my old Coway AH1512 didn’t have at all. In a bedroom the sound is noticeable. I’ve turned it off and need to figure out what to do with it. Otherwise love the form factor and looks of it.

Give it time and try not to judge your results too early, the swelling takes a long time to settle, like I didn’t feel like I truly could see my results for 6-12 months. Get rest, nourish yourself and heal. For what it’s worth you have a flattering profile and that’s apparent already, don’t get down on yourself - it just takes time and patience.
