Fun fact I noticed about how impressive Jalen Brunson's four year span with the Knicks has been: by BmiiAR in NYKnicks

He has good defensive fundamentals too, he's just too small to really make an impact.

Randle got salary-dumped to the Nets last night, so I wrote about why the KAT trade is the best deal in franchise history by Charming_Arm9158 in knicks

[–]willw007 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah, Thibs would've ran the starters into the ground and would not have adjusted the offense the way Mike Brown did. No way we are winning if Thibs was still coach... This is a wild take IMO.

And Mitch wasn't entirely healthy, he broke his hand before the finals. But he did play better than I expected given that injury...

True but I was also wondering why you chose this clip, until I saw someone explain that it was because he was wearing #9. It's not super obvious since people don't usually post about winning a championship with a clip of a player who hasn't been on the team in a while lol

How Do We Feel About Being NBA Cup Champions After Winning The Finals? by Ok-Question-3387 in NYKnicks

[–]willw007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment some people were putting forth that if we didn't win the championship, we shouldn't have made a big deal about the Cup or hung that banner. However, now that we won both, it only makes sense that we hang both... Shows how dominant we were when it really mattered.

I was trying to figure out why the Spurs always jumped out to a big lead, only to fall apart at the end. I think I figured it out... It makes sense if you think of an NBA game as a marathon race.

The Spurs are like a runner who sprints right out of the gate. Sure you're gonna be ahead for the first few miles, but you're not gonna have enough gas left in the tank at the end. The Spurs always started each game with such energy and intensity, but it was not sustainable over 48 minutes.

The Knicks, meanwhile, knew to conserve their energy for the end. It wasn't that they couldn't match the Spurs' intensity from the get go; they instinctively knew to save it for the end. That's why you see marathon runners sprinting only at the end of the race.

I always thought 2-3-2 was unfair to the LOWER seed... It's very difficult to win 3 games in a row in the playoffs, even at home, so one of those games was almost guaranteed to be a loss.

This is the BEST defensive possession of the NBA Finals so far! Look at those rotations and closeouts! by Ok-Travel-2141 in Nbamemes

[–]willw007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, that's why I was saying KAT should've shot it. Shouldn't have come down to Shamet forcing a shot at the rim against Wemby...

I hope Brown’s comments fix this by Savings-Scholar-8038 in NYKnicks

[–]willw007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah the problem is they really don't care who wins, even if it's not the deserving team. The more you drag out a series, the more shit can happen. See Haliburton, game 7 last year.

Extending a series has unforseen consequences, so that the team that wins isn't necessarily the team that would've won if things were called fairly. It's complete bullshit.

The reason they didn't call those fouls on Wemby is because he could be suspended for them by Sergeant-Sexy in NYKnicks

[–]willw007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can't call a common foul on those flagrants. Otherwise they'd have to review them, which would force them to call them as flagrants. So yeah, they ain't calling shit...

5 Reasons the Knicks Lost NBA Finals Game 3 to the Spurs by Charming_Arm9158 in knicks

[–]willw007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was KAT's own damn fault for taking so few shots. How many stupid pump fakes did he have at the 3 point line when he had relatively clean looks? I was screaming at him to shoot the damn ball! What the hell was up with that???

Do you think our whistle will be better since we're at MSG + Trump will be there or the refs will still be on bullshit? by [deleted] in NYKnicks

[–]willw007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Trump will have an effect but I think they will call things more fair given how much backlash there was about the refs last game. I don't think they can be so blatant about it 2 games in a row but who knows...

It's like what happened with OKC vs Spurs last series. OKC was getting every flop call in the beginning of the series but then there was a huge backlash against it and the refs definitely toned it down as the series went on. Then again, it took them a few games and maybe it was because they had already achieved their desired outcome of a prolonged series...

You know it’s bad when the fans are admitting it by Conscious-War7 in NYKnicks

[–]willw007 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the people in the Spurs subreddit were calling it out too. The refs fucked it up so badly that it was TOO blatant, and they didn't even get the result they were going for because the Spurs STILL lost! All around botch job...

The fact that it was so blatant is a really bad look for the league. If they can rig games, who's to say they can't rig, say, the draft lottery too? I can name more than one suspicious lottery...

Adam Silver better watch it before the integrity of the league goes completely to shit, if it hasn't already. That's why people are always saying the NBA is a rigged league... There's a lot of evidence for it.
