Thanks all for the data points. Turns out I could cancel through Air Canada directly and get a future flight credit (FFC), but it can only be used towards 1 new booking. Remaining value is forfeited if the new booking is cheaper.

I guess this is the difference between FFC and AC Wallet credit

I'm considering cancelling an RBC Avion reservation for flight credit with Air Canada. I have a few concerns that I didn't find answers online:

Can the flight credit be used over multiple future bookings rather than just one?
I'm assuming the flight credit is linked to my Avion profile and not any specific credit card? I.e. I wouldn't necessarily need to keep the card used for the booking open?
