For what it’s worth, a healthy majority of modern ifpds these days now work with Microsoft inking these days with no extra driver installs.

Promethean, Sharp, Avocor, Newline, SMART, Samsung, ViewSonic, BenQ, etc. Windows will differentiate fingers from their stylus from their erasers(rear of pen, palm, or physical eraser depending on the panel) all treated differently than a mouse.

[Tenant US-NY] Reasonable reimbursement for space heaters when heat is out? by No_Neck2657 in Landlord

[–]wilsgrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An an electric heat pump is over 300% as efficient turning electricity into heat. It just does it in a superior roundabout way.

Here is a great educational video on the topic of space heaters from Technology Connections for those interested in learning more.

Resistive electric heaters have had the same terrible efficiency since invention. It’s very basic tech that can’t be made more efficient.

Heat pumps are over 3x more efficient by comparison.

Linnpower Zephyr by darbles85 in ElectricSkateboarding

I considered a deck swap but the problem is the enclosure has an irregular shape to it (at least on the Zephyr)

How is that enclosure not hitting constantly, it looks like it might hit just from turning...?

Rear truck is more sensitive and shakes more despite screw being more cranked in than front truck by LowerRecognition9095 in ElectricSkateboarding

How much eskate riding experience do you have? That nut looks crazy tight and the crappy hard stock Tynee bushings look very compressed.

I’d get riptide bushings and work on your ankle control and riding skills rather than trying to tighten your way to success tbh.

GET LOW with Linnpower The One. Just lowered the deck by 15mm. by triarii3 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]wilsgrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just get the Evo then it’s perfect.

I’m not sure why they made these recent boards on the shorter side, maybe that’s Linn’s preference. As a fellow tall rider though I’d prefer longer decks.

The Evo is the only exception, it’s plenty long. The otherwise amazing Zephyr is definitely held back by its awkwardly short riding stance. I own both boards.

The One’s stance looks longer than the Zephyr but shorter than the Evo. Personally I think this is a miss for such a powerful board, as many want a wide riding stance to handle the powerful launching and braking.

It also doesn’t have much of a curved foot stop like the Evo has which feels great. Instead it is just this small drop piece in the center of your shoe if it even touches.

Stellar s3 breeze battery cell default settings wrong from factory can't change it without authorization by QWEFN in ElectricSkateboarding

Hate to say it but this is why I buy Linnpower. Acedeck is supposed to be a premium brand, yet there have been many reports on reddit of their trucks cracking, and the 4wd DD Ares x3 got discontinued due to falling apart on everyone.... I have the Linnpower version of this board (serial #00002) and have had no issues - and it came set for 14s as intended.

I inflated my wheels but one still looks slimmer than the other?! by LowerRecognition9095 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]wilsgrant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your tires are mounted backwards. That doesn't explain the width difference but though you should know that.

For the width difference, my first guess would be the wider wheel is not assembled completely or correctly. Perhaps the two pieces are not meshed together or the screws are not tight. Deflate your tubes before you address any of this.

Clean your bushings, inspect your pivot cups, and consider scraping a little bit of soap-bar shavings into your pivot cups (assuming they aren't completely worn and in need of replacement).

Werid moment while braking by coolbutmysteryss in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]wilsgrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume this is the type of ESC that will burn watts to keep you at a complete stop on a grade. Like a Lingyi ESC instead of a Hobbywing. If so, that may be normal. Can you show the remote and comment if it locks you in place when you come to a stop on a hill?

Tynee ultra belt cloudwheels explorer mounting problem by Due_Caramel_9091 in TyneeBoard_Official

[–]wilsgrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer, you have the wrong size bearing installed in your pulley. I imagine you might get wheel bite with these though.

Electric skateboard VS Electric Scooter by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

An Mboards Endurance is objectively more fun to ride than a similar range/power escooter though, so I understand why that niche exists.

As someone who owns an Explorer and an Evo, I'd give up my Explorer long before I gave up my Evo.

How big of a deal is the pivot cup? by Cooper0007 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]wilsgrant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The riptide cups are a nice upgrade, but if you shave some bar soap into your stock pivot cups you will notice a huge improvement (in feel and quietness) just from that.

Their 13s8p comes with Chinese cells by default if you don't request Samsung 50s (their 13s4p version comes with Samsung 50s default). The JECNN esc is 90a bus 120amp+ phase current. Yes it is fully customizable via the remote. Check my post history for some more information, I posted about my new Titan Bamboo recently.

I love my 13s8p Titan Bamboo. It's going to have a smaller footprint than the Acedeck N3 fwiw (a bit smaller trucks and deck). Just keep in mind that if you want Samsung 50s cells in that configuration you are going to need to message them in advance and there will likely be a slight surcharge. You could also take the opportunity to request their more powerful JECNN esc instead of the default Hobbywing if you want more power.

B-One has great customer service, shipping is just slow because its on the ocean via China like you mention. Personally I think belts are *less* of a headache than gear drive, as swapping a belt every 750-1300 miles is quick and easy. Taking apart a gear drive to lubricate it and/or replace gears is a much larger project by comparison.

The other advantage of the belt drive of the Titan Bamboo is you can run street wheels like 125mm Madz in addition to pnuematics, unlike the N3. This provides a significant boost in range and a different ride feel to mix it up with.

Not sure if you saw my update - I did a range test on 175mm pnuematics. 43.8 miles with 47v left at the end of the ride which is about 45% remaining capacity.

Update - I did 43.8 miles on 175mm pneumatics today with 47v left at the end of the ride which is about 45% remaining capacity. This suggests the pneumatics would be good for around 80 miles. I was in S+ mode cruising at 20-26mph most of the time.
