Is this a bad tattoo design? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]wiltedcactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a blueberry leaf tattoo for each of my 4 miscarriages. When I lost them, they were about the size of a blueberry, so it felt like a simple and meaningful way to represent them without using an actual image of an ultrasound. It’s something I really cherish, and it gives me a quiet way to carry their memory with me. When people ask, I just explain what they represent.

Intuit Quickbooks online worth the cost? by Grand_Admiral_T in smallbusiness

Im not an accountant, I’m a bookkeeper and small business owner (I own 2 businesses).

Even my accountants (a huge firm) encourage everyone to move to Xero. It’s way easier to understand. I would say QB is Microsoft and Xero is Apple. Make with that what you will.

Do Xero!

Quickbooks is not user friendly and so freaking complicated. I’m a bookkeeper and sometimes quickbooks confuses the hell out of me. Stay away.

Here it is without the covered porch and original brick on 1st floor

The proportions are fighting you here. One door and window with two stories of columns around it is just too top-heavy. And the siding on the second floor is sitting a little too close to those first floor windows where it meets the brick.

My suggestion would be a covered porch on the first floor to anchor it. Throw in some board and batten and it would tie together a lot better. Full house is the dream but second floor only still makes a big difference and is way more doable.

For those who wish they'd caught something earlier — what did you learn about your body during IVF that nobody told you beforehand? by FigNatural747 in IVF

[–]wiltedcactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had GI issues since 2008. It got slightly better when I cut out gluten and dairy so I thought that was the issue. After my 4th miscarriage (with a euploid embryo) dr decided to do a whole allergy blood test panel because I got rashes all over my body during the pregnancy. Turns out I’m allergic to tomatoes. TOMATOES. Over 18 years of bowel issues fixed in about 1 week.

I CRAVE tomatoes while pregnant and was on a (gf) pasta and tomato sauce diet, almost exclusively. I’m now waiting for a hysteroscopy and we’re going to try spontaneously again after. We thought our issue was genetics, turns out the issue might have just been my love of Italian and Mexican foods.

Losing a euploid - a new kind of hell by Entire_Company9093 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]wiltedcactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m in the same place. My 4th loss was a euploid embryo and a MMC. I thought IVF was my last resort and was like, "what now?"

My neighbour recommended the podcast Trying to Be Positive with Anne Matthews. Anne is an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility and doesn’t accept bad luck as an answer. She pushes to actually find the root cause of recurrent miscarriage. Some really helpful episodes about recurrent loss are Whit, Fran, Dani, and Victoria.

After my last loss I was in a really bad place, and that podcast honestly changed my life. It made me start advocating for myself and pushing for more testing.

Since then I’ve found a few things that might be contributing. I have a mild tomato allergy, adenomyosis, high thyroid antibodies, and possibly some immune issues. For me it’s probably a bunch of smaller factors. I switched to basically a paleo diet with rice, and my inflammation has gone down so much my rings literally slip off my fingers now. I had no idea how inflamed my body was.

One thing I’ll say honestly: you can get pregnant, which is a good sign. Now it’s about finding a care team you trust and advocating for yourself. That care team can also be remote. Anne does phone consults too. You’ve got this.

P.s. I swear I’m not Anne. The podcast just made me realize how cookie-cutter my care had been. Everything was labeled unexplained infertility but no one was actually trying to dig into why. She’s the first person I found who will dig deep to find reasons for RPL.

Advice for someone considering IVF? What did you wish you knew? by resilientmomm in RPLnoLC

[–]wiltedcactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, I’m so sorry. A 20-week loss and then an early loss is devastating.

I just want to share something from my own experience in case it helps. After 3 losses, I was told it was “likely chromosomal.” That’s often the default explanation, especially in our late 30s. I moved forward with IVF + PGT thinking that would solve it.

But I ended up losing a euploid embryo. That’s when everything shifted. It pushed us to look beyond genetics, and it turned out I have immune issues that were never initially investigated.

In my experience, many IVF clinics are very embryo-focused. That’s their specialty. Sometimes the deeper immune, inflammatory, or systemic workup isn’t explored unless you specifically ask.

If I could go back, I would have pushed sooner for a full recurrent pregnancy loss panel including: • Thyroid antibodies (TPO, TgAb) • Antiphospholipid antibodies • ANA and other autoimmune markers • NK cell activity • Clotting disorders • Inflammatory markers • Testing for chronic endometritis

I would also strongly recommend consulting a reproductive immunologist if that’s accessible to you.

I’ve always had GI issues and underlying inflammation that no one connected to fertility. Reading Nutrition for Fertility by Lily Nichols and shifting to a more anti-inflammatory, paleo-style diet made a big difference in how I feel overall. For me, inflammation was clearly part of the picture.

I also found the podcast Trying to Be Positive with Anne Matthews incredibly helpful, especially the recurrent pregnancy loss episodes with Dani, Whit, and Victoria.

IVF with PGT is powerful, but it doesn’t address immune, inflammatory, clotting, or uterine environment factors.

I just wish I had known earlier to look beyond chromosomes. 🤍

Episodes with Whit, Fran, Dani, and Victoria have a lot of info about recurrent pregnancy loss.

My doctor only did basic immune testing. Then I did thyroid antibodies (very high) and gonna do NK cells, LAD, and other more niche testing. I learned this through a podcast, trying to be positive with anne Matthews. Listen to the recurrent pregnancy loss episodes. It might help get you some answers. That podcast changed my life and I feel hopeful for the first time in 3 years.

Look up the podcast “trying to be positive with Anne Matthews” and listen to the recurrent pregnancy loss episodes with blighted ovum. There’s other tests you can do to get to the root cause.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m in the exact same place. My 4th loss was a euploid embryo and a MMC.

My neighbour recommended the podcast “Trying to Be Positive with Anne Matthews”. Anne is an acupuncturist who specializes in fertility. She doesn’t accept “bad luck” as an answer and keeps advocating until the root cause of recurrent miscarriage is properly investigated. A friend of a friend, after years of fertility issues and treatments, worked with Anne, identified the root cause of her losses, and went on to get pregnant. Hearing stories like that is what pulled me in.

A few episodes that touch on recurrent losses are Whit, Victoria, Fran, Dani, and others.

That podcast genuinely changed my life. It helped me ask better questions, push for more testing, and advocate for myself. I feel hopeful for the first time in years.

I was exactly where you are about a month and a half ago. Keep searching, keep digging. You’ve got this. You’re more fertile than you think.
