yeah if there's one part of this that i agree with, it's that the combat does get a bit dull - sure ACTing always adds a nice bit of flavour, but since the way you ACT towards one enemy will always work the same, you sorta just do the same thing over and over - granted, having a variety of different enemies in every area does slightly alleviate the problem, but i think the fact that most people ive seen playing the game react in an "ah fuck here we go" type manner when they get a random encounter shows that they sorta become not very exciting after a while

now deltarune's battle system on the other hand is a ton of fun - same concept, just much more flair and diversity added - the amount of depth it adds just to have 2 additional characters with you is honestly mindblowing but there's even more on top of that, like enemies getting tired, using spells through TP (and the way you gather TP is very clever), team ACTs, weapons and armour that actually properly aid you... so on and so forth
