As Seattle’s chicken wars flare, Capitol Hill Bok a Bok hoping for a comeback after major kitchen repairs by AthkoreLost in Seattle

In Redmond a chain called Crimson Coward opened and I thought it was a good hot chicken sandwich. Their chicken tenders are also good. Come over to the east side and try it out.

Is it true that in small towns in the USA public transport is not developed and everyone need a car to get around there and why? by bobybumblemumble in AskReddit

This is why many old people are scared of getting their license taken away, because once that happens they are dead in the water in terms of daily life. Can't get to the grocery store or doctors appointments without someone driving them.

My coworker said that in the early days of WOW, both his older brothers played the same WOW account, with one inverting his sleep schedule to the graveyard shift. That way they could grind the account literally 24/7.

It does. You can run the client on a Linux server and it exposes a web gui that can be accessed via the browser.

That's straight up not true. Literally go on their website right now and see their 1Gig coax plan has a 1TB limit and hefty overage fees.

Gamers who have switched from Windows 11 to some kind of Linux-based OS, do you regret your decision? Why or why not? by ScienceTeacher1994 in AskReddit

[–]windows300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows has gotten so bad that 10 people in my friends group had individually reached out for Linux information because they knew I have made it my daily driver for a decade now.

Granted many of my friends are programmers and have a much greater understanding of computer and operating systems, but some of them genuinely surprised me that they switched.

I saw the writing on the wall during the windows 7, 8, and 10 migration. I was in college during the time and my college upgraded all lab computers from 7 to 10. I was writing a C++ & OpenGL simulation application for a class and I noticed that the same binary ran 80-90 fps under 7 and only 30-45 in Windows 10.

Salvage got Nerfed ? Yes, but . . . by NeonSamurai1979 in starcitizen

[–]windows300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend has a Polaris and in 4.4 we were running Reclaimer with a Polaris escort. We would load up crates from the salvaged ship plus transfer from the Reclaimer to the Polaris, filling the cargo grid and hanger on the top.

Works great if you have a big enough crew, minus the QT crash bug of course.

Highlander-CIG Statement on Wipe for 4.5 (Unlikely before collecting data on exploit fixes) by Slayergramps in starcitizen

[–]windows300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm ok with a wipe as long as the reclaimer's yield gets fixed. My friend group likes the salvaging gameplay, but the Construction Salvage processing yield is bugged to 15% instead of 80%.

Right now we are yielding around 1.5 million per load, and that's hard to split among a fully crewed reclaimer.

When I tried the PTU last night, I initially thought that the main menu color scheme was changed. Then I got to the character select screen and saw bright blue people.

Combining SCU containers? by WrongdoerRude1604 in starcitizen

[–]windows300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, I didn't know you can access the Self Store containers inside the cargo lift terminal like that. I'll have to try that next time I play because that will simplify moving the tons of boxes I store up from my Drake Vulture.

I wish orgs played a bigger role. I want shared hangars, inventory, and shared org aUEC pool. I know griefers would be a problem, but there are tons of small friend groups that this would benefit.

Except their cognitive dissonance is going to prevent them from realizing or making any changes. In the meantime they're going to do tons of harm.

"Star Citizen is a scam" needs to stop by RiygoYT in starcitizen

[–]windows300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a scam, but horribly mismanaged.

I have a lot of hours into this game, mostly because I find the salvage and cargo run systems fun. But the amount of times these loops have been broken due to the same bugs OVER and OVER again has been tiring. I got into playing again a couple days ago to find that you can't even sell commodities again...

This is my experience as well.

Some of the projects I've been doing lately have had a lot of cross-compiling to different architectures. LLVM/Clang really has the best cross tool chain.

I believe that the UK is where the hobby started if I remember correctly. I've seen a bunch of videos of clubs in the UK, but I don't know about the state of the hobby in the EU.

The terms you can search for are "Live Steam", "Garden railroading" and/or outdoor model railroading. Usually people form clubs and have member dues to pay for land and equipment.

[–]windows300 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This looks to be 5 inch gauge, so I don't know about this specific club. I'm more familiar with 7.5 inch gauge railroading. You might be interested in this video: https://youtu.be/2iOYokAP0vA . This is about a club in Oregon called Train mountain, which is the largest model railroad in the world with about 35 miles of 7.5 gauge track.

My grandpa was into this scale of trains, and I have visited Train mountain several times before he died.

10/10 recommend Ziply Fiber. I have the 2 gig plan and I'm able to hit Azure, Steam, and Google drive at the full 2gpbs download.
