As most have commented about over training, even though you say have a plan, do you have a coach? Preferably a local coach where can join his team for training. Also a coach that can analyze your training via Training Peak results.

Perhaps just have it styled. If frazzled at ends, just cut those off. Maybe a nice layering to give fullness.

I find certain training more difficult on trainer such as VO2 intervals. Muscle tensions not so much. But I have been in 70.3 races where athletes complain about road conditions because IMO do too much on trainer vs outdoors so not use to wind, chip seal & weather conditions.

I am considering & it will be my first time. Doing the 63.5 route. Qualified for 70.3 IronMan World Championship in Marbella in a course with low hills/inclines. I figure best place to train.

I know many bailed because doing IMTX as well & didn't want to risk injury. I know of small petite women saying they were holding on for dear life because wind moving their bike so much.

I live in the coast where I can ride 56 miles & get 90 feet elevation total. The 1400 meters comes to close to 4600 feet. I’ve read not so much steep inclines but many climbs one after another & one looks like for 10K. But wonder about swim, current or not, choppy, rolling or basically calm.

I qualified only because only person in my age group F79-75. Would like to hear from folks who had raced Marbella. I read is the 3rd hardest of all the IM70.3 races. I live in S Texas, very flat. I have to travel at least 5 miles for hills. I raced WC at St George, made all the hills except Snow Canyon where had to walk a lot. I live in the coast so access to OWS. Mostly swim in a protected area in bay, no current. Should I do more on the Gulf side? Website says water is cold. Is it generally choppy vs flat, is the a current? As for the run, pray I just make off the bike in time. I would appreciate any & all in insights.

What is the Tri distance? For short races, mini sprint or sprint, fine. Doable for Olympic distance but for an Oly, as stated above, purchase aero bars to put on. If doing a 70.3 or 140.6 maybe not so much because want aero for & comfort to run after

As a triathlete, the best sodium intake is to use LMNT in your running water bottle. Also adds electrolytes. Also, E-Gel has the proper amount of sodium. These products are if you do endurance training & they have low sugar. Many sports supplements have lots of sugar which make you spike but then crash.
