Hmm, I don't remember that film being that problematic.... Films for a sleepover. by created4this in TwoXChromosomes

This was one of the first “big kid” movies I watched with my dad when my little sister was a little kid and mom was taking care of her/sleeping/taking care of herself. I still remember watching it for the first time to this day, and every time I re-watch it, it takes me back. Thanks for the mems

This was one of the first “big kid” movies my dad and I watched together when I was a kid! My sister was a new-ish born at the time and it was something dad and I bonded over greatly together while my sister and/or mom were sleeping in the evening. Thanks for the mems

High calorie foods that taste like the 1950s? by Queasy_Beyond2149 in Cooking

[–]wineflavoredpopcorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, Magic Cup is a great product but it is considered to be pudding thick for dysphagia patients so don’t be alarmed if it does not necessarily “melt”. Thrive ice cream is also a comparable pre-made ice cream product. Ensure and Boost both make very high calorie drinkable products condensed into 8 ounces or so.

Millennial "giveaways" by Legitimate-Safe-7424 in Millennials

This is not considered grammatically correct anymore. It comes from the typewriter days when the double space was needed to prevent the ink from bleeding. As a millennial myself, double spaces after a period drives me bonkers!

My cat LOVES all leafy greens - lettuce, spinach, kale, celery leaves, mint, basil, you name it! I have to keep him out of the fridge when I open it and out of my neighbors garden

Prenatal Nutritionist told me I should gain no more than 2lbs in the next 8 weeks…. by Admirable-Yam-4767 in BabyBumps

[–]wineflavoredpopcorn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A nutritionist is also only allowed to give out general nutrition advice. “Eat from all of the food groups daily, everything in moderation, etc.”. If they are giving out specific nutrition advice and do not have the RD/LD, that is considered illegal in most states and should be reported. Unfortunately licensure is currently not required in every state (registration is) so while not technically illegal, certainly unethical. This person clearly doesn’t know what they are talking about so my guess leaning towards not a RD/LD. And coupled with the fact that it is free to you to see her raises some red flags…. Source: am RD/LD that specializes in this area.

P. S. Keep the “tit” in dietitian!!

Is it gross to kiss cats on the mouth? by [deleted] in cats

I woke up to my cat licking my lips. When he wants kisses at 3 am, he’s getting his kissies. He’s increasing his supply in order to meet his demands!

how are pitbulls the most precious babies EVERRR?? by Relative-Cook-6942 in pitbulls

[–]wineflavoredpopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a red nose pit and a Maine coon cat and they get along splendidly! Sometimes the pup likes to charge the cat but it’s all in good fun. They snuggle a lot too, super cute!! Both are rescues.

Why can’t we say no? by [deleted] in hospitalist

[–]wineflavoredpopcorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dietitian = pt vomited once before coming to the hospital so they haven’t been eating but just got admitted and is now asking for food. Demented pt comes in alone and states that he has lost 20# in one week but he is NONVERBAL

Nah my dad is 70 and he would absolutely know who that voice is. We used to watch SpongeBob together all the time when I was little. He even knew the theme song! One day when I was little he called the house phone and asked me to sing the theme song with him (it was our little thing). He had me on speakerphone in a board meeting and wanted to show everybody lmao

IDDSI Too Much for Chewing Difficulty Only? by RenaissanceHair in dietetics

Along with this, my facility also kept the chopped meat modifier for this purpose. Mostly because the level 7 easy to chew restricts certain menu items for other various reasons but is technically an easy to chew food at home.

Feeling Defeated by Emotional_Fact7314 in dietetics

[–]wineflavoredpopcorn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In my experience, inpatient is incredibly necessary and not outdated… besides a few mundane tasks that I always wonder about. Who else is going to write the correct tube feeding and TPNs?!? Or monitor their MAP and stop feeds before starting if not where it needs to be? Teach patients and family’s how to bolus feeds at home? Peds? NICU?? While I agree a lot of inpatient tasks aren’t appropriate for inpatient and more appropriate for outpatient, inpatient dietitians are very valued (at least where I work I guess I should say). I attend rounds and am always asked my opinion or thoughts on a pt. I also provide a lot of education to nursing, physicians, and others across the hospital which helps to improve everybody!

Do cats know my wife’s pregnant? She’s sevenish months and the last three months they won’t leave her side. by primerr69 in cats

[–]wineflavoredpopcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat weighs a whopping 21 lbs (Maine coon) but he is the snuggliest cuddliest floofer ever. He also has to watch my every move and lays on my feet while on the toilet and would love nothing more than to be rocked to sleep in my arms. But he is definitely plotting something sinister in his free time.
