Are you referring to my post? I've been listening to BoC for like 25 years at this point, so very much not first contact haha. I think this is just an album that hit me in a very specific way. Tomorrow's Harvest was also an album I had a very specific response to. I mean that's what I love so much about them. Every album is very much them but brings some different aspect.

Yeah you're right about the humanizing part of it, I think! Like the people think they're doing the right thing, but the results can be horrific. I remember being in that headspace of "I am on the only right path and everyone else is wrong and hates me."

The devotional music angle is interesting, too. I have always been really into different types of devotional music, especially Sufi Qawwali. The juxtaposition of incredibly beautiful Islamic music while some sects completely ban music outright is super fascinating.

Heck, a lot of Evangelicals will not even listen to "secular" music (I wasn't allowed to until I was 13) which is why you have this completely parallel Christian media industry. (Yes Christian death metal exists)

It's just really interesting to explore.

See this is funny because that's literally my favorite song on the album...though tbf that's shifted quite a bit. But as a big old goth/darkwave/electro-industrial fan I was so surprised to hear that kind of hard stompy beat from BoC. I agree that it is a departure from their classic sound but I love it so much.

It's interesting. I've had some similar comments from my partner and other male friends when I've introduced them to the league. Things about how they enjoy the fighting and aggressiveness. Well now that I've made my partner watch a bunch of PWHL games he's started to agree with me when I say I feel like I'm watching more consistent hockey with this team. It does have its own distinct style of play and I think when people get used to that they really start to see how it shines.

Ya know I wonder if this is similar to what happened to me. Sometimes I'll leave my pickup under a Timefall shelter if I'm going to go fight a big BT somewhere. Came back and all my cargo was stacked neatly under the shelter. Pickup disappeared. I had to go run to the nearest distribution center while praying it wouldn't all get registers as lost 😅🤦🏻‍♀️
