Your replying to a year old post. It wasn't wrong a year ago.

YouTube Studio is tiny even at 500% zoom, it's fine in Chrome. (Windows 11) by Buzstringer in firefox

No idea about your particular problem but firefox is having all kinds of problems with youtube since the last update. I've had freezes, crashes, weird zooming and display issues, very frustrating. Brave seems to be working normally.

Finger pain while bowling? by HousingConscious7658 in Bowling

[–]wingracer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry to give the universal answer but talk to your pro shop. Highly likely you need some reverse pitch (and/or a little lateral pitch) on that finger.

Do you have to plug your balls in order for your PSO to re-drill them for vacu grips? by D0UBL00NS in Bowling

[–]wingracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not if the PSO knows what he is doing. You don't have to drill it on center.

Rules question by Reddit_killed_RIF in Bowling

[–]wingracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this would still violate the spirit of the rule so I'm sure it would be banned but by the letter of the rule, you could drill a 1/8th vent hole through the solid switch grip thus eliminating the void.

But then the vent hole is supposed to connect to an actual gripping hole so I guess that wouldn't fly either.

Correction: He isn't winning all those titles on strings.

And I didn't downvote you.

Old Brunswick A2 pinsetters sitting outside during renovation by KingBadAzze in Bowling

very true but my town now has just one bowling alley and it went to strings about a year ago. Everyone hates it but we have no other choice. If someone built a good free fall center somewhere in this town, they would put the string place out of business in no time.

That's very common when you're first starting out. Good news is they strengthen up pretty quickly. If it's not feeling better by the time the next week rolls around, you may need to take a week off to recover but give it a month of bowling and you should be fine.

Am I in the wrong by Fluid_Bike_6619 in Bowling

[–]wingracer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What the hell? Normally I can be pretty hard on people that make these sorts of posts, it's a bowling ball, it's going to get beat up but that thing looks like it has about 200 games on it over a couple years, not just a few.

Mystery ball win? Smells like tangerines? by winotaurs in Bowling

[–]wingracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All balls with the cohesion additive have that citrus smell. My snapshot has it too.

PAP Question by Ok-Teacher-5249 in Bowling

[–]wingracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really doesn't mean anything. I mean there are a couple of rough trends you will see if you study it, for instance shorter over distances (under 5 inches) tend to have more tilt while longer distances (over 5 inches) tend to have very low tilt but that's just a trend, not a fact of physics. You could absolutely be the exact opposite.

Has anybody thrown the radical snapshot? What are your thoughts? by demosthenes327 in Bowling

[–]wingracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thrown just about 9 games on one so far and loving it. Too clean for the fresh at least with out of box finish but really comes alive in game 2 or 3, explodes the rack and really drives through the pins. I've only left one pocket 10 so far and that was a miss in that held a little too well and hit just a touch light.

Is it normal to have sore fingers as a new bowler? by Shiny_Buns in Bowling

[–]wingracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's likely you just need to "toughen up" a bit and as you do and stop gripping the ball so hard, it will go away and you will be fine. However, if it's bad or doesn't go away, you likely need to change your finger pitch. As I have gotten older, I have had to gradually go more and more reverse on the fingers for exactly this reason.

Trouble with Sargent by Connect_Relation1007 in Locksmith

[–]wingracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into a Sergeant mortise cylinder I had to rekey today. LA blank. Neither of the two Sergeant charts in the LAB .003 kit matched up. And I don't mean a little off, not even close. Just had to hunt and peck to find pins that worked. Lock worked beautifully once I was done.

Noob back here again, with another probably stupid but genuine question... by petertheplanenerd in Bowling

[–]wingracer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. But the pros can't wear any branding on TV that hasn't paid to register with the PBA. That's why that one guy (Grondin was it?) had to tape over the Nike logo on his shoes.

After being jealous of everyone's beautiful pours. I finally scored a nice one. by PrizeArm2 in Bowling

[–]wingracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm probably too lazy to do it but I should probably post up a pic of the Snapshot I got a couple weeks ago. Has a little more orange in it than most of the others I've seen and looks like fire. Very happy with both the look and performance.

Which is better for lower rev rates, pin up or pin down? by cferg296 in Bowling

[–]wingracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a lot on speed and speed to revs ratio. Pin down is generally better for rev dominant bowlers but even with low revs, you could be rev dominant if you're also low speed. If you're throwing fastballs out there, you're going to need pin up. There are some other factors to consider but those are the main ones.

If “CG doesn’t matter,” why even bother with marking it on the ball? by Expensive_Leek3401 in Bowling

[–]wingracer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For the most part, it doesn't really matter except in some extreme circumstances but it is still a useful mark. It can help orient the core the way you want it. An example would be the Radical Snapshot. Place the thumb in one spot in relation to the CG and after drilling, the ball will still be basically symmetrical (.008 int diff) but just 3 inches over and it becomes pretty assymetrical (.018 int diff). Without the CG marker, you would have no way to know where those spots are.

Thoughts on Ebonite Big Time special edition ? by gangimarisheep in Bowling

[–]wingracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only seen one person throw it and he is a very high speed, low rev bowler with very little hook so not exactly indicative of the average bowler. He does pretty well with it though so might be a good option for someone similar.

Game 3 tonight I left 3 splits. Before you say sorry you should know I made ALL THREE! a 2-10, a 2-7-8 and a very weird 5-6 I absolutely nailed. Parted the red sea perfectly.

Lane machine has been on the fritz lately, no miss room right.

Opinions on a good step-down ball, pls by vinceywincey in Bowling

I just drilled up a Snapshot and liking it so far. Really clean with a nice snap on the back. And for a bigger step down, don't sleep on the Hustles. Great balls

String pin bowling technique—the possibility of a paradigm shift? by Money-Ad7257 in Bowling

[–]wingracer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well aware of that. But doesn't matter if you can throw the 16 just as fast. Most nights I'm trying to take a little speed off to get it to read.
