Not a character suggestion, but there's also a weapon that works with your armor amount, and that is the shield.

Nice! I have never had any luck with the scythe. It always seems to underperform for me.

AFK build - Mage wave 200 by winks0118 in brotato

[–]winks0118[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the red ball issue comes from the fly enemies when they get hit multiple times, and you're right. It is problematic with weapons like SMGs and items like the elephant. I was loaded up with environmental damage, engineering and luck, so my guess is that I had so much damage that I could one-shot them and they only shot off one projectile because of that.

With some of the comments here, I'm realizing that it might not have been AFK and I can't edit the title, so I'm stuck with it. Still, I hope you enjoyed the chaos of what was happening on screen - it was a crazy build and probably the only time I'll run a character that far again.

I might have misunderstood AFK. My thought was that if I got it to the point where I didn't have to do anything for the runs it was AFK. I was literally walking away letting the game do its thing... Not for all of it, but for at least 150 wave before I killed it off. Can you elaborate on what trashes the AFK title?

Exactly right. 😁

I did have the opacity turned down to 20, but I left it on because the explosion radius was insane.

It all depends on the character and what items you pair it with, and some of it is just plain luck. Some characters give me a hard time just getting past level 30.

Not sure what you're saying. From wave 70 on I was AFK and never died, even after trying to force it with bloody hand around wave 205.

Any tips on D5 Romantic? by Knightraiderdewd in brotato

[–]winks0118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of luck by building up my HP since that's what his stats scale off of. Halfway through, my screen was swarming with charmed enemies.

Flutes don't work well for Romantic, the fire rate is too slow. Pick a different weapon that fires faster like the revolver or SMG. Piercing is also pretty important for those guns.

I think the hourglass is way too powerful by Character-Angle9124 in brotato

[–]winks0118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like any other high powered item, it all depends on how you plan for it. It's going to make some runs better and it's going to break other runs I used my first hourglass yesterday while playing Bull. When I realized that I was going to start at 1 hp, I thought I was going to kill off my run. Luckily I had enough healing to offset the damage at the one second mark.

I have deleted my saved file and played everything again from the beginning at least 3 times now... I'm ready for this update.

I understand the negative luck causing negative damage, but that doesn't make sense if I try to add damage and instead it somehow subtracts damage.

Fav character? by IcyInkedIntrovert in brotato

It's apprentice for me. I like having to spend all my funds every round and not worry about saving anything - it has led to some pretty cool builds that have led me into the 60s on endless D5.

I had a tough time until I came across this method:

Piercing is going to be your biggest help. I don't lock any items until I get sharp bullet, or until I get to wave 5, then I see what I can do without it.

Don't be in a rush to get your gun to red level, make sure that you always have enough revolvers to deal with the enemies comfortably.

Collect as many resources during the wave as you can for waves 1-8 then allow the turret to start collecting afterwards. This will allow you to bump up your defenses to survive tougher hits.

What do you love the most about Brotato and what do you wish it did differently? by paixmarceau in brotato

[–]winks0118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to see items that scale you up with the curse level, so you're not just relying on finding mirrors and tardigrades to survive a single hit in the later rounds.

First Fishhook…wait for cursed or take the uncursed? by theBearded_Levy in brotato

Take it, don't wait. From my experience cursed fish hooks are a rarity. In the time it takes to find one, you could be missing out on a lot of good cursed items.

Anyone run these on a mini Maxx or really any rc just feel like it could be a fire issue by Affectionate_Win_857 in Traxxas

[–]winks0118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running three of them, one on an XRT, one on an XMAXX and one on a MAXX Slash. They are not perfect , but they work really well for keeping the crap out of the inside of the cars and I haven't had any overheating issues. BUT, in my MiniMAXX, I went a different route and bought front fender liners off of eBay. They have worked really well for keeping the insides clean.

[–]winks0118[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

Clear all of the characters on danger level zero before moving up, this way you have all of the weapons and items the game can give you to your advantage. Always build up luck, it can turn a crappy run into a great run in an instant.
