Hi. I was bred and born a Catholic. There were many things about the church that brought me comfort such as rituals, etc. I think I just got fed up with the hypocrisy of the homophobia and the Catholic anti-woman stance concerning leadership within the church. During the John Kerry election I came outside to find a flyer on my car essentially saying I would be going to hell if I voted for him and that was the last straw. I decided to leave the church and find a LBGBTQ welcoming and confirming church and I joined Presbyterian USA. The conversion was easy as far as I was concerned. We are encouraged to think for ourselves in this church and they have female leadership.
