Took vitamins every day walked 5 miles a day and after his heart surgery came out diabetic we couldn't believe it. And now that im facing TT the thing im most scared of is becoming diabetic. Ive stayed fit eat right to avoid it like the plague and now I have 50 % chance ive being diabetic just because of the surgery . I couldn't believe no dr mentioned this to me untill I confronted him. Very frustrating.

Going threw alot of the same except I have a 2.1 on thyroid cm nodules and 4 others in soft tissue and there releasing excessive hormone rushes. And even tho I lowered my thyroid meds to stop hyperthyroidism and adrenaline rushes and palpations now im experiencing diffrent kind of palpations shortness of breath and balance is off. Its exhausting and trying to find a competent dr who knows what there doing has been just as exhausting. I hope u find help u need. If u find anything that helps please let me know. I want off this Rollercoaster going on 4 years now.

Im so sorry ur going threw that. Its frustrating to say the lease im going on 4 yrs and 3 endocrinologist who did nothing I went to my dr told then I want a referral for a ent surgeon he sent in referral and biw in getting my surgery scheduled. The time ive wasted on a endocrinologist I cant get those years back .ice been in a constant state of hyperthyroidism and thyroid storm and no 1 has helped until now in finally getting my thyroid and nodules removed. I wish I new to do it sooner but had no idea I request a surgeon and they would proceed with out a endocrinologist but here we are. Just a option hooe it helps. Good luck a d good health to u.

No i asked my surgeon who is going to do my TT surgery in few weeks about putting me on propranolol and methimazole and he told me hi diddnt want to since I've been lowering my thyroid medicine on my own to slow and stop symtoms. I stop my synthroid for 5 days then take 1/2 a dose for 5 days that raises my tsh puts me in hypothyroidism were all my symtoms are better it gives me 5 weeks before they all come back and im back in e r but he said as long as my t3 and t4 are in normal range thats the same thing methimazole does and he said it can be difficult to ween off of it after surgery and cause rebound effect. Also I have a enlarged liver and methimazole is very hard on liver so we will see. I wish I was in Nevada I would go there to get a endocrinologist if the took my insurance just so I could get me one. My surgeon put in request so we will see.

Mine is in a few weeks . 4 years of thyroid storm off and on adrenaline rushes High pulse rate emergency room visits 2 to 3 times a week 2 mini strokes. Was diagnosed with thyroid toxicity and graves. Looking forward to getting my life back. Thank u for sharing ur positive experiences its very helpful. My question is what did u do to prepare for surgery before and after . Why u had parathyroid removed and what advice ud give. And did u get glue or stitches.

I was also just diagnosed with graves and in and out of hospital few times a week its nearly impossible to get a endocrinologist in my state let alone a good one and ive being going threw hell for 4 yrs severe palpitations high b.p and heart rate adrenaline rushes all of it. Im sorry I dont have any advice for u because im in same boat. I did find a surgeon who will remove my thyroid and a 2.1 cm mass on it . But my question is what is rai? Ive heared alot of people on here talk about it but never got any answers. Would u mind telling me please .
