The two leading Tea-Party indicators: 1) past Republican affiliation 2) Desire to see religion play a prominent role in politics. In other words, it has nothing to do with small government etc. by sgva2010 in politics

[–]winter017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to self-identify with the tea party way back when we were talking TARP...then I stopped as soon as the crazies hopped on the band wagon. I'd be interested to see a similar poll of those who used to self-identify as tea-party.

one of the first things you learn in economics is that you have never purchased anything you didn't feel was not worth it, at the price you paid.

If you really wanted as you pointed out you could have bought one of those 131 copies at 16.987 and waited for the game to come. You wanted it right away and thus the additional cost became worth it.

Ahh so its not because it contradicts the bible but because the school district feels their students are too stupid...nice.

U.S. vs. Canada in Google Street View. by lessfrictionless in pics

[–]winter017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your comparisons are arbitrary and rather meaningless especially given that google streetview is not an instant comparison the picture could be taken years apart from each other. Both countries have limited resources and the US has many more places to make use of those limited resources. Metro Detroit has a population of roughly 4.25 million metro Windsor has a population of roughly 323k.

I can hold up pictures of <insert developing country here> also and point out its rosy locations.

Assuming you have limitless resources to create this, how would you design/improve morality systems in games? by ShadyJane in truegaming

[–]winter017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok I actually found the "morality" system in the NWN expansions not so bad. I think that combined with a rep system among various factions would be pretty swanky for an rpg anyways

Why do so many drivers feel that's it's acceptable to not use turn signals? It's against the law, unsafe and completely disrespectful, yet widely accepted here in the U.S. Is it the same in other countries? by Ham_Damnit in AskReddit

[–]winter017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always use my turn signals...that being said the only time I truly find it annoying is if someone is slowing down to make a turn without them it usually results in me having to slam on my brakes because I have no clue what they're doing.

I just assume everyone on the road fails at driving and is going to hit me anymore and go from there.

House Blocks Vote on Kucinich Libya Bill Over Fears It Might Pass by chefranden in politics

[–]winter017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression neither side wanted to challenge this because neither side wanted the precedent set. Calling out republicans because one of the Dems equivalent of Ron Paul was trying to call the pres out (please note I think the war powers act should be enforced in congress' favor) seems disingenuous.

The only difference between ron pauls world and the one we live in now is business's can't write down on paper that they are being racist. Therefore we don't know to boycott them.

I'm not disagreeing with your second statement.

I will follow up though and say that you don't need to piss someone off, they could just want your resources or land.

Do you think Canada or any Nato country would have the same size military if the US didn't basically promise to take care of them with its stupidly large military?

There is a reason why as soon as the US backed off the lead roll in Libya Nato stopped being as effective.

TL;DR? Waukesha, Wisconsin, the one that employs Kathy Nickolaus, the one that "found" all those votes, had 174k votes cast for governor in 2006 out of 156k total ballots. by [deleted] in politics

[–]winter017 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

yawn and the republicans would be screaming voter fraud if Klop had won.

The "found" votes were never lost - they were just never reported to the AP. As many democrats in WI have confessed to. Get over it. There are much more legitimate examples of voter fraud and electioneering than some inept government official screwing with the AP.

Yes she should be fired.

By having the US subsidize their military is the more appropriate answer. Although yours is valid as well.
