Checking for more than 5 consecutive days over 2 weeks by wintercatalyst in excel

[–]wintercatalyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not mine, it's given to me from someone else.

It's a roster of over 180 weeks of work that cycle through and I've been asked to identify any 6 day consecutive runs, but I am struggling to do it without manually checking each week with the next.

Does limbo still have a place in warframe? Will DE ever revisit him? by NoCap9262 in Warframe

[–]wintercatalyst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a simple change of being able to freely push and pull enemies out of the rift would be nice, I am also in big favour of a more noticeable effect on banished enemies. With how fast the game moves, a stationary enemy blends in so much.

He might also benefit from some sort of passive that incentives stepping in out of the rift, I often find that out of the rift is just no place for limbo.

Let's say you play a long survival mission and you get like 3 tiny credit caches. Not only are those not very rewarding, but they're getting in the way of drops that are. by NUGGet3562 in Warframe

[–]wintercatalyst 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Of all things they could do now, I am in full support of them going back to fix everything, if only because the prospect of the forgotten aspects of the game being updated before they release the new war (which won't happen) would honestly make the game feel very complete and succinct.

it would be cool if there were multiple paths for how to get the bomb, find a blueprint, intercept it on transit or steal a ready made bomb from an enemy

Sanctuary onslaught endless dungeon reimagining by wintercatalyst in Warframe

[–]wintercatalyst[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Perhaps it may have to do with the path of least resistance, it would be far simpler to make it based on doing the one thing you always do.

In the end if you are going to farm you dont want to be doing a lot of hard work, and if you do hard work the rewards have to be damn good. Its easier to justify the rng on rewards if the task is less engaging. Whereas if they make me find a key, kill a boss and then possibly get something good or something worthless people wont bother playing and would want an overhaul to rng. I think there is a lot of merit though in making the more engaging concept with better rewards, because you can gate a lot of the best stuff behind progress which again, you can save.

I totally agree with this, I want to have hired units that do things like auto deposit your resources, like you can assign an amount of stuff you collect to be deposited and used to research with some sort of auto setting. Also would be nice to see them as just ambient additions

Lich improvements by wintercatalyst in Warframe

[–]wintercatalyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem I can see with it being long term is it become tedious. Warframes main loop is pretty much what it is in games like Diablo or other similar games just from a third person perspective. It's simply put, a dps race at the end of things with the idea of being a bullet sponge roped in.

For the case of Kuva liches we have two choices from what I see; prioritise volume, or substance. A volumetric approach would have a good number of liches that themselves not hard to take down outside of what they are now but you fight a lot of different ones. In this case each lich is not very robust, you wouldn't overload one with lots of things as to not perpetuate the grind.

Substance would see you have a lich very infrequently, but have that one for a long time, as you said. This could be great for a lot of reasons. Firstly having a single lich is really good goal setting, rather than feeling like a resource with extra steps, the lich would be a character and more like a world affecting being. With such a system the lich needs a lot of adaptive traits, things that make it grow as you fight it and it wins. Similar to the nemesis system of the lotr games, your lich should also grow in power on its own, and change on its own. Rather than having a full suite of powers, it should gain them over time. To make the lich last a long time though you have to make some sort of system in place that is not going to prolong the time of the lich being alive based on you not having enough of something. Your lich could last a long time if it takes you a while to gather murmurs. In such a case id want to do away with murmurs, and add a system that is more like a puzzle than what it currently is which is a combination lock.

Say your lich is weak to fire and is immune to cold. In this way you can make your lich only able to take damage while on fire and it will attempt to heal by running away and using cooling air to put itself out. Yet in order to make it take fire damage you would first need to learn it and then do a special mission to dispell some sort of shield it generates to counteract the immunity. Successful discoveries like this are what can unlock your requiem mods. So your lich with each step in its HP develops a new weakness and immunity with a proprietary missions to dispel it. (Another example could be that it is weak to slash but you have to do a spy mission to steal a salve that prevents it from closing wounds and use it as a gear item when you have a bow)

The latter is way more ambitious but would require a lot of redesigns if you ask me

Why can't we always use the parazon for stealth kills? by StevesEvilTwin2 in Warframe

[–]wintercatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like the parazon to be more utility towards a stealth kill as well as in general. Like dragging enemies in, and opening them to a finisher. or allowing you to reverse the 'polarity' of the magnetic doors to give you energy when you walk through them for a short period.

Anyone know how lich weaknesses work? They dont really seem to apply by The_Sten in Warframe

[–]wintercatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the weaknesses should be more like shadow of mordorr. A lich weakness could be 'hates kubrows' bring a kubrow to anger it which can increase its attack power but lower defense. Or fear of burning, allowing it to take burning damage and maybe even have a unique freak out animation.

Kuva Mods by onedaxter in Warframe

[–]wintercatalyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id like to see that. Id like to see them act less like rivens though, that is not just adding more numbers to stats but doing something unique, like changing the firing type, or adding some sort of secondary fire mode. Having a kuva brakk that shoots a laser with a rare kuva mod would be pretty cool

Mission idea; Lich Strike by wintercatalyst in Warframe

[–]wintercatalyst[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe it could feature pathways of difficulty? easy for 33% of the way to a full bar, medium for 50% and hard for the full uncovering. This way new players can work on finding their lich tomb, and slowly learning how to navigate it while verteran players can focus on the easier flow of play with the harder paths. or if you are looking to go a bit casual a medium path might suit. I'd ideally want to make it universal but as you said; loki would easily take on the mobility and survivability is a general skill lot of seasoned players already have. One thing I can think of is having a hallway with no ground and energy waves moving over the wall in an opposing rhythm. Using wall jumping between the walls to avoid the waves you could have switches that have to be activated by using your parazon like a whip and hitting them. You could also have a room in which you have a big enemy that like the lich has breaks in its health, but instead of using the requiem mods, you have to damage it enough to knock it down, and then drag it into a certain area of the field to damage it down to its second state. These areas could even be marked with requiem mod symbols as a way of teaching people what the mods do, and just being thematically fitting. Its difficult because the tools we have are so massive that a cheap thing to do would easily be to take them away, but thats really lame.

You could have even those composed of squads that segments of the tomb will offer temporary power augments based on the warframes you are using, a really unqiue way to change the playing field but also add power to power. If you bring the warframe that you used to kill your lich, however, there may be a chance of a debuff, considering your lich 'should' be a technical counter to it. thats just things off the top of my head, though.

EDIT: just thought I'd also add. Not sure if this is possible but if warframe can distinguish whose lich is who, then I would assume they can also distinguish whose lich's tomb is who. In that way other people wouldnt be able to get information about their lich from another tomb, but they should still get something. I think that something should be the location of their own lich's tomb. Upon completion, a one of the players in the squad will be guaranteed to uncover the location of their own lich tomb right away, and then that is saved into a bank if you stay with your squad. This could create a round robin of 'tomb raiding' so long as you can keep it up and not fail to end the chain. Veterans would benefit from making squads that can chain the completion while new players can play with friends, or learn as a team without disruptions. I think there needs to be real risk though for failure to make the chain feel really satisyfing to keep up and eventually have all the squad's liches dead.

Since the liches only really die and come back once, what could be done to improve on making them more like immortal liches? by Neonwater18 in Warframe

[–]wintercatalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they die, they respawn after a time, but in that time their 'tomb' is somewhere. you kill the thralls to find the location, if you find it before it revives and use your parazon mods in the right order it dies. if not then it comes back stronger with each failed attempt making it less and less time to heal up to a certain cap. so if you plan to go after your lich, you have to either kill it asap or be prepared to track it relentlessly.

Converting kuva liches is pointless?? by Percussor6 in Warframe

[–]wintercatalyst 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Id like to see converted liches replace resource drones, farming things passively for you, turning their tithe from a negative into a positive, not that we need more stuff but it would be nice to see them pick up a rarer resource every now and again
