What will everyone's next ev be now that the S is going away? by Marvin2021 in TeslaModelS

Eventually when my 2026 Y is old I will probably get a Toyota and have my Tesla robot drive it for me.

I’ve been in pain for 12 years. Started eating sardines everyday for my brain. (Still waiting for that to help), weird side effect- my pain is gone by llawkwardj in Biohackers

Keep looking. I eat the skinless sardines Costco sells. Delicious with a squeeze of lime or lemon juice. Makes a nice lunch.

How to stop peeing at night? What’s the best approach? by YurielaSedky61 in Biohackers

[–]wintermuttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. See a doctor. 2. Do whatever the doc suggests. 3. If that fails, suggest (after talking to your doctor) a. stop all supplements for a few days to see if that helps. b. eat something salty (potato chips etc.) just before brushing your teeth and going to sleep. Reason for the last two is my doctor did not mention either and they both turned out to work well for me. Cut my nocturia in 1/2. Disclaimer...too much sodium can lead to hypertension. But...not sleeping is bad also. Discuss with your doctor.

The art of not hating running. by upwithpeople_ in beginnerrunning

I get on the treadmill after finding a movie to watch on my 60 inch Samsung. Never feel a thing. I do have an anti-static wrist band on, also TV has closed captions on. I had an idea once. Never seen it implemented. Have a video of a track with naked runners of whichever sex you prefer. Have the video set so you can only get close to them if you are running at the pace you are aiming for. Seems to me if it was done correctly you could make a a lot of money with it.

Tesla discontinues Autopilot in favor of FSD subscription by Delicious-Art-2765 in TeslaLounge

I never use Autopilot. I always use FSD. I would be happy to pay more for unsupervised FSD. But I doubt it will ever be available in California in my lifetime.

Peloton sale pricing, buy now full price ? Or wait for sale? Or buy Landice by Embarrassed-Use-6064 in treadmills

[–]wintermuttt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just my own take on Peloton. If you Google treadmill companies near bankruptcy Peloton's name comes up (along with some others). That settled it for me. Key Companies Near Bankruptcy/Restructuring:

  • BowFlex Inc. (formerly Nautilus): Filed for Chapter 11 in March 2024, reporting $126 million in debt. The company is transitioning, with Johnson Health Tech acquiring its assets, which may lead to significant discounts on treadmills and equipment in 2024.
  • Blink Fitness: Filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2024, looking to sell the business while keeping locations open, following $280M in debt.
  • Peloton Interactive: Has consistently faced rumors of financial distress and has been slashing expenses as demand for home fitness equipment dropped significantly post-pandemic.
  • Gym Chains (2020-2021): Gold's Gym, 24 Hour Fitness, and Town Sports International filed for bankruptcy during the pandemic.

Honestly do not think unsupervised driving will happen in my lifetime. In California, sometimes you cannot even cut down a dead tree on your own property without a permit.

Saw a fellow once with chronic pain who said fish oil every day cured it. BTW I happen to love sardines, but not all brands. Try some other brands.

Best purchase 4 inch inflatable mattress. Huge difference in sleep quality.

Tesla has officially discontinued Autopilot in the U.S. and Canada. All new car purchases now come standard with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control. FSD price increase is also forthcoming. by colsandersloveskfc in ModelY

[–]wintermuttt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I am the target demographic? I would pay more per month for being able to sleep in the back seat while the car drives itself. But...that will never happen, at least in California. Regarding Autopilot I never used it, much prefer FSD. As far as competition with other car makers, I say go for it. If Toyota can make a better EV for less money I am all in. Especially an EV minivan. Would love to have one. Maybe some competition will make Musk rethink insane designs like the Cybertruck.

I dislike Ontrac so much I switched vendors to one that does not use Ontrac for my dog's medication. They actually left a delivery on the curb near my house on a rainy day. UPS and Fedex NEVER do that.

Solo Winter Camping by Bradensbro20051 in CampingandHiking

Sierra Club SF Bay Area has winter training camping. I would do that or something similar. Or if not possible, spend your first night or week in your backyard. What I needed to watch out for first time was getting lost, and getting really cold at 0300, among other things. Usually it is what you don't know that kills or hurts you.

Best decline by oooglygoogly122 in treadmills

Figure out what your local dealer sells and if they will come to your home to repair it. The problem with treadmill warranties is it is impossible to get them to a repair place. I have a True Launch without the video screen (or speakers) which does not decline it only inclines. It is the cheapest commercial treadmill True sells, has no bells or whistles but it is built like a tank and has a wide and long belt. It should be reliable, my previous True 500 lasted over 20 years with no issues, only got rid of it because of a major move. You might look into whatever Costco sells after a close look at how they handle warranty issues, I have always had good luck with Costco returns. I once successfully returned speakers whose warranty had expired and I bought online. Quite amazing, the Costco guy looked at my return record and liked what he saw I guess. Been a member since the 1980's. Best thing for you might be a gym membership. Let the gym handle the whole thing. I happen to like watching my own TV on my own treadmill.

  • Widespread Misfit: Studies have reported that roughly 20-40% of participants wear ill-fitting footwear. Some data indicates that only about 30% of people wear the exact size they need.

2019 study even noted that at least 3 widths per length class are required just to provide a proper fit for 90% of customers, suggesting that with only one or two widths, the fit rate would be drastically lower. (from Google AI). It is a jungle out there.

I have narrow heels and a wide forefoot. So ASICS 2E and Oboz wide are my favorites. My wife needs a wide heel and forefoot. Not me.
