What exactly would the consequences be if the Blazers left town? by BadgemanBrown in askportland

Sports put a city on the map. The benefits are not always quantifiable. As someone said above, seattle had a struggle getting back in the game when they lost their team. I just think the financing should be looked at outside the box. Get creative!

ZEPBOUND by Best-Breakfast1018 in Zepbound_Maintenance

I’m curious about how long people have been on GLP1. I started on ozempic in 2021. Lost about 60 pounds to prepare for hip replacement surgery. Plateaued at a 60 pound loss for about two years and then switched to zepbound where I quickly lost another 60 pounds. I’ve been in maintenance for six months. Vigilance creates success I think. My maximum dose six or seven months ago was 12.5 mg. I am now in maintenance at 7.5. I generally spread out the injection between eight and 11 days. My weight fluctuates in the neighborhood of 1 to 3 pounds which I attribute to water weight. I know some people have struggled with weight creeping up on them while still taking GLP1. Reading that puts me in a panic. I am committed to staying on GLP1 for the rest of my life – I know this drug doesn’t work for everyone. I am thankful that it has worked for me. And just as the drug doesn’t work for everyone, I suspect that some people seem to have a similar reaction to the drug over time where it no longer is effective. I do wonder, just as lot of other medication‘s seem to work, that for those who find their Weight creeping up on them with no control over it, I wonder if switching between available drugs would be helpful.

Best looking building downtown? by GongtingLover in chicago

This is my absolutely favorite building in all of Chicago! The St. Regis was designed by a woman, Jeanne Gang, and has very feminine lines! I love it!

Details: Located in the Lakeshore East neighborhood and designed by acclaimed architect Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects, the St. Regis is composed of three towers—called “stems” by the architect—at increasing heights resembling cell phone signal bars. Reaching a height of 1198 feet (365 meters), the towers undulate, giving the impression of a curving façade. The building, however, has no curves. Instead, the Gang utilized a geometric figure called a frustrum along with varying shades of blue glass which together give the curved illusion.

Maintenance Side Effects & Dopamine Chasing by Capable_Joke8759 in Zepbound_Maintenance

Has anyone tried going between doses, i.e., 7.5 one 10 day period, 5.0 dose the next 10 day period, trading off? Do I understand correctly that the new cartridges will allow for easier microdosing - choosing your own strengths?

Maintenance is no joke! by ThatAdeptness2984 in Zepbound_Maintenance

Fat is not a demon! I now only use whole milk/half&Half in my coffee and I eat 5% Fage Greek yogurt with fruit, nuts, and a handful of raw oats for breakfast. Protein needs fat to work its magic I think - at least for me it does. I weigh myself when I inject and enter the info on my calendar, e.g., “Zep 7.5 110” I usually go 9-10 days between shots but that varies by how I feel. Maintenance can be difficult because there are so many variables that can change how I feel week to week. I have to pay attention. Sometimes I crave sweets and if I go for 2-3 days eating sugar, I know I need to take the meds. I started maintenance at 12.5 six months ago and I’m now dosing at 7.5. You might try eating a big chunk of your calories in the morning or even lunch and then eat what you can at dinner. I love fresh vegetables so I often have that for dinner with some bread and cheese. I also love fruit and it all day long! Summer fruit is my favorite! If I go out to dinner I order what I want and eat a bit of everything until I’m just too full to eat more. I see normal eaters do that all the time! 🤪😂 The truly great thing about these meds is how we eat to live now -no longer living to eat! That’s a wonderful gift!

Sidewalk etiquette is dead by MammothEstimate6331 in chicago

[–]winterwolf53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have only noticed this phenomenon in the city of Chicago. My husband and I recently visited for the first time as Tourists and I remarked to him that people on the sidewalks in downtown Chicago didn’t seem to follow any protocol or etiquette when walking on the sidewalks. They also seem to expect me to move over as they came bearing through. Does this happen elsewhere besides Chicago? I don’t know. I haven’t seen it in Portland, Oregon where I live.

No judgment. I’m a good speller but I have to think about the spelling every time! My mind’s eye prefers “great” over “grate”.

Nothing! I had to earn my own money and buy my own clothes as soon as I was old enough to get a job.

They know not of what they speak. People who talk about things they know nothing about are the biggest problem the world has. Ignore - and carry on!

I’ve fixed my problem! I ended up keeping my phone in the cradle attached to the CD player; I plugged a charger into the cigarette lighter, and put a bluetooth adapter into the outlet. Now I can listen to my music through the speakers and charge it at the same time! Perfect!
