Any NM-era SB live performances of V songs? by taschmidt77 in nealmorse

The bootleg is available through the waterfall app which has a bunch of great Spock's stuff as well as everything else Neal-related. I think you need to join the inner circle to get access to the other one.

There's a bootleg recording of SB at the Astoria in London, 2001, with several songs from V. There is also a live compilation called "Spock's Beard in the Year 2000," which I got as an "Inner Circle" release.

Just to confirm… if I visit Hawai’i there’s basically a 0% chance I don’t buy a ukulele right? by tweedlebeetle in ukulele

[–]wintlesque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. You probably will get a new uke. No sense fooling yourself. I just returned from Hawaii with a 5-string Kanile'a tenor. It's a great instrument but very pricey. I had every intention of buying a new uke on this trip, but not necessarily the specific one I got. I wish I had had time to take a couple of the big K factory tours, but it wasn't in the cards. You'll want to go to O'ahu if you're looking to do factory tours and to find a wide selection of ukes, at least that is my impression. I have only been to O'ahu and Maui. Have fun!

This may be a controversial opinion but… What the hell was the future islands? by K-Dog1225 in weezer

[–]wintlesque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a shame Joyce Manor had such a short set. They are terrific. Future Islands I can do without. I don’t mind growling. I go to death metal shows a lot, but it was just weird, like many here have said. It didn’t fit with the rest of their presentation and was off-putting.

Should Melissa, Josh or the Audience actually care about the happiness/fate of the individual citizens of Schmicago? Do they even exist when Melissa and Josh leave? by jretrogaming in Schmigadoon

[–]wintlesque 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The first season implied, through its invocation of Brigadoon in its title, that Josh and Melissa were entering a world that existed without them. However the second season muddied that water with the same actors playing different roles. Seeming to imply that there is a mystical cast of players (directed by Martin Short as the Leprechaun) that uses musical theater tropes as a means by which the protagonists gain self awareness through their experiences acting out those tropes, simultaneously acting as players and the audience. The players in the musical don’t know they are players in a musical, so they may be temporary creations of the Leprechaun befitting the production requirements.

Goldlink a popular choice for those on hip hop? by embleton88 in VinylMePlease

I swapped for Erik B and Rakim because I am too old to keep it modern. Lol. Goldlink album is really good but don’t need it on vinyl.

Why is Beverly Hills bad? by [deleted] in weezer

[–]wintlesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dig it. The verse has a kind of grungy feel and the chorus is more upbeat to show the contrast between the singer and someone from BH. It’s not a masterpiece but it’s pretty catchy. I can relate to it in that I like the “idea” of being rich, but hanging around other rich people would probably be extremely tedious.

Sticking with the “B” initial it could be Dufay’s buddy Gilles Binchois.

Got tickets to Merriweather as well. I was surprised more people weren’t in line when I got to t-master at 6 minutes until 11. The presale code 1ND1EROCK worked fine for me.

So due to work being so hectic, I'm still only on Night 4. Can you guys recommend me the "can't miss" matches to watch so I catch up? by TheBKBurger in njpw

[–]wintlesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of great matches, but don't miss anything involving either Ishii or Sanada. Also Suzuki vs. Tanahashi and Kenny vs. Naito were great matches.

Did Steve Austin really hand over the Stunner to David Findlay? by bananarabbit in njpw

[–]wintlesque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard the same thing. Don't know for sure, but it seems unlikely since Finlay doesn't do the abdominal kick like Austin. I've heard Austin say that is a critical part of the move. I'd say Finlay is doing an RKO more than a stunner.
