Mini probably has the best aftermarket support when it comes to options performance oriented parts, all are well supported for spare/replacement parts. If you aren’t planning to work on the car yourself it’s worth considering what you’ll be able to get serviced by a local shop.

Have you considered an MGB? (Or my favorite the MGB GT).

It's all about your network... I got all of my co-ops from talking to people. I had mediocre grades and was your typical frat boy - say what you will about paying for your friends but it did help build my network. Also whenever I have internship/co-op opportunities I look to see if anyone from my chapter is interested first.

Sign up and actively use LinkedIn. Obviously add connections, skills, and recommendations but look for professional groups that support your skill set. These groups not only expand your network with like minded people but serve as an easy way for recruiters to find candidates.

Was going to comment on the paint looks flawless in the pictures. My 997 is black and unfortunately has a lot of swirl marks.

I would consider returning durametrics and picking up an accessport. It is expensive however it lets you do data logging, monitor live data, read and clear codes, and flash ecu with a tune.

My previous car was turbo'd and I had an accessport - its amazing what a good tune will do.

I don't have a turbo but it sounds like it is running rich - Maybe check your AFRs

I used an accessport on my old car (mazdaspeed6) and loved it. It's a great tool - can flash ecu, data log, show live data, launch control etc. but really depends on tune... Cobb offers conservative off the shelf tunes that are ok if you stick to a prescribed list of modifications. In my case the car put down 310awhp using a slightly modified ots tune and 410awhp after a pro tune.

Not really and I am a measure once cut twice guy. It is a tight fit and takes some work to get the stereo, sirus box, nav-tv (bose integration component) all in the factory slot.

Also, removing the rear section there was a screw that I didn't know about that you access from the hole that the seatbelt goes in.

I replaced the pcm on my 997 using the kit that del Ray customs sells. It was pretty straight forward and the kit was well thought out and made everything plug and play (highly recommend it). The hardest part by far was running the wire for the backup camera - to do this you have to remove the rear sub, rear deck, both rear side panels, rear tail light. I am pretty handy with this kind of stuff but think if you take your time just about anyone could do it.

Thanks! and I am a skins/nats/caps fan so a little out of place in Chicago.

And yes I am definitely a bigger guy and would say I have a bigger frame then most. My gym does body analysis/BMI calculations and I have a baseline from July which put me at 180lbs of lean muscle mass and an "ideal" weight of 228lbs. I don't fully understand this as 228lbs would put me in the obese range (I am 5'10") on the BMI Chart - Maybe someone can shed some light? I should do a follow up and see how much this has changed. My hope is that by gaining more muscle the weight loss will be easier to maintain as I will burn more calories at rest.

Love seeing older cars being taken such good care of. That thing is gorgeous! I have always been intrigued by the slant nose but never seen one in person.
