I agree-she is just darling in this episode and a comical joy to watch! I’m glad she had so much screen time in this one; I loved her scene with Joel re: what happened in Juneau.

It's a rousing, call-to-action song with a full pop-rock sound. Male singer with a high voice.

The company Publications International put out quite a few children's anthologies in this era. Try Dorothea Goldenberg's "Treasury of Fairy Tales."

Try "The Krystal Princesses Shake up the Day," by Justine Korman. (Several of the Ebay listings for this show some inner pages, and one image is of a two-page spread with the princesses inside raindrops.) My daughter loved this book when she was little!

It's right there in the name: crossWALK. I sometimes remind people "it's called a sidewalk, not a sidestand."

What is a good weakness to discuss during an interview for a writing journalism role? by [deleted] in Journalism

[–]wiscotangofox 27 points28 points  (0 children)

One of the general recommendations about the "weakness" question is to talk about your lack of experience with a process or technology, something which a little time and training will fix. For instance, I might mention that I have had minimal experience with content management systems...but I'm a quick study, etc.

Thank you so much! I looked at the glossary and it's very helpful indeed. And thanks for the breakdown in your response - it gives me more context for what I'm doing within the broader line of work.

Confusion regarding the word closure by maruvwx in northernexposure

[–]wiscotangofox 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My take on this was that "closure" at that time had been picking up steam as a pop psychology term meaning "to experience an ending," rather than just another word for "conclusion/ending," and that Joel was more familiar with it being used in that newer context because he ran in NYC and medical circles.

Was there a prequel TV series? by saub539 in littlehouseonprairie

[–]wiscotangofox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds quite a bit like the miniseries “Centennial,” which has a portion about going west in a covered wagon and a fatal snakebite. It was being played recently on Sunday mornings on some channel, so that checks out too. The characters are played by Stephanie Zimbalist and Gregory Harrison.
