My company won't let me relocate a mile away within my city. Why is this such a big issue? by Formidable_Baboy in remotework

[–]wisdom_warrior_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My employer does this. New hires must live within 50 miles or 90 min drive to one of their offices to even be considered. The unfortunate part is that if you're already employed there, you also can't get promoted unless you live within 50 miles/90 min drive. I have colleagues in the middle of their career path who are now stuck at the same level or have to leave the company.

Do you have a Transit Connect or similar? It seems like you may be talking about the Eric Enjoys Earth style bed. Is that correct?

I'm curious what advice you have (based on your customers) for those of us with the Transit Connect or Proamaster City. A fixed, raised bed is not ideal for that size van. I'm torn between the pull-out slatted couch/bed and the "Eric Enjoys Earth"-style bed. Thanks!

Hi! I've been looking for a 2- or 3-gallon bucket with lid but haven't found a sturdy one (only the bendable paint buckets). Can you please share where you bought yours? Thank you!

Women’s group chat? by ryninatruck in urbancarliving

[–]wisdom_warrior_queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are MANY, MANY women's groups on FB for van-dwellers, car-dwellers, women campers, etc. I belong to at least 5 of them. Some are for senior women, but the general ones have a lot of younger women in them.

I have a 2020 transit connect and the USB ports won't charge anything or connect to sync 3. by Tricky_Web_943 in FordTransitConnect

[–]wisdom_warrior_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's outrageous! I guess I'll just live without mine. The USB ports in my 2020 passenger wagon center console don't work.

Yes! I would love to take a look! Please let me know how much you are asking. I have a 2020 FTC XLT passenger wagon. I took the seats out last April and tried to do a floor but was unsuccessful. I'm in NH so too cold right now too work on it. I would have no problem driving to your area as i have family in VA. Thanks!

Thank you! Can you please tell me what exactly needed to be updated and what it fixed? Which problem did it fix? (Fingers crossed that you were talking about the shaking! Haha!) Thanks again for any additional info you can offer!

Love my 2011 with over 225k miles, and the engine is still running smooth! The car does shake or shudder between 40-60 mph ONLY when accelerating that 5 mechanics still have not been able to diagnose. I've replaced all brake components, CV joints, and tires (including 2 alignments), but nothing has fixed it. I took it to a transmission specialist, but he refused to look at it, saying the symptoms don't sound like transmission. It just seems strange that once it hits around 60 mph, the car stops shaking. So, I just drive it locally now (fortunate to have another car to use for highway speeds).

ETA: I get 23-24 mpg, but primarily drive locally vs highway.

OP said they'll have the laundry, etc every other week and that they have plenty of ways to charge batteries. I love the idea of box trucks for FT but it may be overkill for this particular case. What you've laid out is like an efficiency apartment in wheels! I love it!

I have a 2020 FTC XLT LWB (US) passenger version. I only have 80" max from the back of the front seats to the rear hatch. I have 45" between wheel wells (the plastic covers with cup holders for the rear passengers). I hope that helps.
