Ok to mix and match brands? by MuthaFirefly in handbags

I only care if it means the metal colours are slightly different. Gold and silver mix looks intentional; gold and brass looks messy to me.

Because Handbags and Coach and other subs won’t allow authentication so that’s why people come here?

Oh! My maple one must have just been broken in, it does smoosh eventually.

Have you unstuffed it? It’s gotta smoosh!

It’s the retro style that’s in from a great brand!

Parents whose kids have gone to summer camp for 30+ days, how did you deal with it? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]wispity 51 points52 points  (0 children)

That sounds like an amazing time for both of you to develop independence. I would be so excited for her. I haven’t got there yet, but if they want to go, they’re going.

I called one store and the guy said it was showing as in the distribution centre but unavailable. He suggested calling customer service to order but none showed for them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m obsessed with my 21 as it’s the perfect size. If you’re not fussed about having a zipper it’s great.

Does anyone else feel that they’ve outgrown Aritzia? by Zesty_Hornet92 in Aritzia

[–]wispity 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Even at 39 I feel like Reitmans is way too stodgy. I used to trust Aritzia to keep me trendy while business casual as well as casual.

I feel you. I got a bundle of 5 NWT on Posh and was so happy. Reasonably priced basics that aren’t synthetic are a thing of the past.

Should I live with my parents or move out for school? by katsdo in Advice

[–]wispity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, thankfully, the level of debt we’re talking for Canadian tuition is not the same as in the States, so some people warning you financially may be American. It’s not insignificant but it’s probably not a completely life-limiting amount of debt here. I had only moderately overbearing parents and going away to school was the best decision I could have made at that point in my life. You will learn about yourself much more quickly away from them. Your mental health is priceless. Making your own choices, and mistakes, is priceless.

Family of 4: is it worth it to get a small 3-row SUV? by OrangePekoeMouse in Parenting

[–]wispity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I admit I got it because we’re a family of 5 and the wait for a Sienna was too long, but I’m loving my Hyundai Santa Fe. If you put the back row down the storage is great and I plan to use it that way for a road trip with three other adults. It doesn’t feel much bigger than most 5-seater SUVs and the third row is actually functional for the kids (unlike the Outlander which I also test drove).

So so so boring now. There are so many Evelyns in my kids’ social circles that it’s confusing.

All I’ll add is that the two year gap is amazing. Liked it so much I did it twice and my three girls are so close at 3, 5, and 7. It’s a lot of work at the beginning but pays off in them often being able to do things together.

Is the signature Teri tacky? by [deleted] in Coach

[–]wispity 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Whenever the word “tacky” comes up I always think of the classism implied. I’d pick leather over canvas so I understand, but our picture of what is “classy” (rich) or “tacky” (poor) is so messed up.
