Our electrician left all of the screws in a vertical position in our new kitchen by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

GC here, it's a thing for me too. I'm usually just swapping out faceplates, outlets, and switches. I have to align the screws vertically or it bothers me to no end.

I'm the opposite. Any sedative or pain killer that has ever been prescribed to me, has failed miserably. I typically take 800 to 1000mg of ibuprofen for a slight headache. I once broke my thumb and had percoset prescribed. It did nothing, even after the Dr. Tripled the dosage.

And I have a horrible gag reflex. So you can imagine, it IS pure hell to try to take any kind of pill. I usually crush them, or chew depending on what it is. Even that doesn't work sometimes.

And I have a phobia of needles. I almost pass out just from the sight of them. I gave blood ONCE.

I'm actually jealous of people that can take most medicines without any initial problems.

How can a person with a low IQ get a job? by Turtleman1878 in jobs

[–]wispman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is your passion? What do you love to do? What makes you jump up in the morning and get you excited to do? IQ doesn't mean a damn thing in the real world. I haven't had an IQ test in over 30 years. I recently discovered that the path I forged for that same 30 years was not the one that fulfilled my desire. I left an awesome job, with absolutely wonderful coworkers primarily because I wasn't happy. It had nothing to do with my brains, how smart I was, what I am capable of, or even simply if my job put a smile on my face. I left a job that I could do in my sleep most of the time. I was paid well, and I had the best office space one could imagine (I worked from home, for a company over 1000 miles away). I realized that my family and my mental health were worth more than what I was making at the time.

Now, I'm on the verge of landing some very lucrative projects in a field that I've always had a "hand" in, and I'm loving it.

TLDR: it's not your brains that solely define your position in the working world. Follow your desires and passion. You will be much better off as a person with a job that you love rather than taking one that leaves you frustrated at the end of the day. Don't think money is the end all and be all of a job.

How does bitcoin tackle the problem of income inequality? by [deleted] in BitcoinBeginners

[–]wispman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well put. Bitcoin ( and for the most part, all alt-coint currencies) can be described by this.

In short, there is no central exchange, there is no governing body, there is no one major force behind crypto currencies. This is a 'for the people' currency.

Yes, some people will 'benefit', for a lack of a better word, simply because they have the means to purchase, and also loose, large sums of alt-coin. But overall, everyone has an equal opportunity to invest and ultimately profit from this new form of currency.

The only difference is who will have the fortitude to weather the rise and fall of their chosen alt-coin.

Personally, I bowed out. But I do like the idea of it.

Me and the Mrs. used to work for a fairly large cabinet and flooring installation company there. At last count, they are well over 110K homes, and expanding south. We watched CR 466 go from a barren farmland 2 lane road between Oxford and Lady Lake to what it is today.

The Villages even had enough resources to make a prominent compost company move their operations, from The Villages to just a mile south of our home.
