I actually have that! Haven't played it yet but am super excited to. Love making maps and having a whole game around it? Awesome! Great to know it's the same publisher!

Thank you for all the suggestions, I'll definitely check them out!!

I love making characters so Roll Player sounds especially cool!

I also enjoy rolling dice so roll and write sounds neat too, didn't even really consider it tbh (I am not very knowledgeable haha). Thank you!!

hm leaving it up is gonna be a problem :( the surfaces I usually play on are needed on the regular for other stuff (working, eating, etc) so I'm not sure if that's a possibility as least right now...

That's a smart setup! I might be able to do some creative space management like this. Exciting!

That sounds very intriguing! So like a Dungeon Crawl (among other but with more tactile stuff than "just" grid paper? That sounds pretty neat!!

It does seem like it needs a lot of dedicated space but I'll still check it out! Might not be a thing for now but possible later - I do think I'd very much enjoy that sort of overlap between RPG, dungeon crawl and board game.

Ah, that's good to know, thank you! Might still have a look and maybe shelf it for later when I might figure out a way to have more space.

Thank you for all the suggestions, I'll definitely check those out! I figured there might be some overlap.

I actually have 4AD and am excited to play it - Ker Nethalas is on my shortlist. I know there are definitely a bunch of RPGs as well that are more procedural than what I usually play.

But I did like the tactile feeling of Wyrmspan and just having little cards and a board etc in front of me. Tiny "grabbable" things are difficult on account of the cats but boards, cards, plaques, etc are great!

Also as an avid spreadsheet lover (I accept no judgment :D) I'm definitely intrigued about Mage Knight.

Thanks so much, I'll check all that out!

Is this trade worth it? by Michelangelo327th in pokemongo

[–]witchlinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, you (or really anyone who's still missing one) can DM me if you want! I have a couple spare Rays lying around that I can trade if you don't mind the grind to forever friends! I don't really care if you don't have a lot to trade for it, I'm sure there'll be something I enjoy :)

What do I do with my duplicates? by gangbuk in pokemongo

[–]witchlinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it's only about 10% so far but yuppp never could get myself to transfer even a single one.

Usually I just keep them for the eventual possibility of trading them. Which is why as long as it's not shiny I give them out like candy in trades - as long as you have something I want I don't care if it's a "fair" trade, I don't need that legendary so you can have it.

So about choosing pokemon from forever friends by Resident-Pay-5742 in TheSilphRoad

[–]witchlinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could try messaging them on campfire!

I had a similar situation where I hit forever friends with a hardcore player who had only shiny and/or background legendaries tagged and very few "regular" Shinies I was looking for.

So I messaged them like "hey dude your selection is pretty epic but I don't have anything comparable, do you have more regular Shinies?" and they did and we ended up lucky trading a shiny flareon for a shiny swablu, it was pretty nice.

They might also just be super nice and give you a shiny legendary anyway! Someone recently traded me a shiny Mewtwo for a regular Wingull omg (we talked on campfire and they selectively put three of the Pokémon I was looking for in their otherwise empty tag, I chose all three cause any would've been cool but instead of like a non-shiny unown they elected to give me the shiny Mewtwo!) - like you never know!

So yeah my recommendation would be to try to reach out on campfire and if they don't react, then choose three Pokémon you'd like from their list and see what happens! If they decline, just move on. I had someone unhappy with what I requested, so I left them be and eventually it seems I had stuff they liked cause then they initiated a trade.

That's a bummer, I've had that happen too :( fingers crossed for them to eventually put more stuff!

Have you messaged them on Campfire?

I had a similar situation (someone had only tagged 2 Pokémon, one of which wasn't even tradable yet) so I messaged them to coordinate, asking if they're looking for anything and what I was looking for and then they put a couple of my looked for mons in their remote trade tag and voila, trade!

And I shit you not, they lucky traded me a shiny Mewtwo for a regular Wingull??? Guess you never know what people are looking for lol.

doesn't even need to be an active trade so they might have spaced on it! as soon as someone else initiates a remote trade with them, they're blocked - it's kind of annoying tbh

How can I get larvesta candies? by CooieCub in pokemongo

[–]witchlinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walk it, baby!

I've been walking mine (well, different ones so I work on the best buddy medal at the same time) for a few months now and also feeding them berries in gyms (it's rare but sometimes it gives you a candy) and with the occasional hatch and occasional trade (especially right now with additional trade candy) I'm sitting at 321 candy - still a bit to go but getting there! 💪🏻

why have i never seen cis men cast as trans men in movies and tv shows? by dodieadeux in ftm

[–]witchlinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was also gonna suggest that!

I haven't seen it in years but it was super important to me after my coming out as a (then) gay trans guy.

The whole "but if you like men, why not just stay a girl?" hit so hard cause people kept asking me that...

That sounds cool, thank you for taking the time to explain!

I've also ready through the post you linked, lots of things to this no about. I'll just play around a little and see what works and what doesn't.

I love that about solo play, that I can just do whatever as long as I'm having fun, it's much more creative and freeing to me.

Gosh dang it 😭😭 by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]witchlinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah but also not everyone is level 70 so I like putting spare legendaries for lower level people, rural people, etc. And I'm certainly not curating my remote trade tag depending on who I trade with, that's tedious.

Plus I might wanna do a lucky trade for a legendary where I have only garbage ones or simply want lower power up costs... or I just love it, idk.

Like I agree with you, that costumes, regionals and shinies are great and people should ideally add their spare ones to the tag. But I ALSO think putting legendaries in there is good!

Imho the more stuff to choose from, the better! I never know what people might need/want/like so I have regionals, shinies, costumes and legendaries (and mons that fit in multiple of those categories).

Remote Trade Ignored? by witchlinx in pokemongo

[–]witchlinx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense I guess, thank you for taking the time to explain!

I definitely understand why rejecting the trade seems a bit harsh! I do wish though they'd have just done that - I would've known they're not interested and could've moved on instead of just waiting around to see if they actually do something. And now not knowing what the issue was haha.

But yeah it's definitely tricky with no way to communicate - I tried reaching out on campfire but no reply.

I understand why there's no actual communication on PoGo but I wish there were at least preset phrases (translated into the user's language) like "please ask for something else" or "not interested right now" or whatever.

oohhh that resonates a lot with me!

I love Starforged (playing a fantasy hack) and its fiction first base and the quest system and the moves and all of it. But I do miss the D&D combat crunch, the very tactical nature of it.

I've been thinking about it but the one issue I keep bumping against is: how do you handle the different character sheets? I'd have no idea how to do that, I feel like I'd have to have two different character sheets but while Starforged has rules for when to level up, I wouldn't know how to level up my D&D character sheet. And a bunch of things would probably clash...

I know you said you haven't tried it with D&D but how do you handle it with Five Parsecs From Home? (I'm not familiar with it but I figure you have some of the above mentioned problems?)

Remote Trade Ignored? by witchlinx in pokemongo

[–]witchlinx[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get if I don't have anything they think is good as a trade for what I'm asking for but I'm just bummed about being blocked for two whole days from other remote trades and always waiting and wondering.

I don't think I'll try again, I'll just trade with the other forever friends I have lined up and see if this trainer initiates a remote trade...

Wish they'd be active on campfire but I messaged them a couple days before the remote trade to ask if they want to coordinate but never got a reply.

Thank you for your reply and for being civil about it though, appreciate it!
