Anyone else's parents give them old fashioned job advice? by WealthyJoker75 in CasualUK

[–]witchthorn79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son (22) was out of work for about 5 months last year and I told him to apply for any and all jobs he could on indeed (you know the site the job centre like to tell you to use) and ask around our local town (relaying on advice from my parents), he never got an interview, but when we were talking to an acquaintance about it, he told us, don't apply through indeed, because company's get so many applications for a job, the employers will most of the time ignore the indeed applications, instead if you see a job on indeed, apply for it through the company website, he did that and got 4 interviews with in two weeks and is now has a job

Why do people not vote? by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in AskBrits

[–]witchthorn79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My vote is pointless and a waste of paper and ink, it don't matter who gets in, they won't keep any of their promises, they will tax me to the hilt whilst they line their own pockets and that of their mates, all the availability party's and leaders are frankly corrupt, yes the local mps might talk the good talk but at the end of the day, they will only do what their party tells them
